This one is a practical necessity, more than anything else.

This is a 10 year old design which will be outdated in a year's time (like Vid said) - there's no 170 horses or sexy, dream-like looks or legendary pedigrees, no panoramic sunroof or LED lights to show off, nor it's something which can be parked in front of the neighbours to incur their envies.

In fact, it's the only (and good) 7-seater in the 15 lakh ex-showroom range, has just enough features to not feel ancient, and is superior over it's two best-selling Korean peers in terms of dimensions, size, engine, cabin space and practicality.

If I was the same person pre-2018 and a show-off, I might have gone with the new Creta or the Harrier, everything else be damned.

But recently, I have realised my priorities. I can't be selfish anymore.

Also, no compromises.

Any reason why the Marazzo was avoided? Won't it be more comfortable than a XUV?

Added 5 years Extended Warranty (Shield) + 5 years RSA to the booking. Not taking any chances with the new complex BS6 additions to the engine.

I shall be adding front fog lamps & reverse camera to the car - two necessities. Possibly a rear bumper guard too, just in case.

Also, I might get a sweet deal out of this in the end through some good, well-placed sources. Let's see if it comes through.

Congrats RavenAvi. I'd suggest you ditch the rear guard. It is quite an eyesore and practically doesn't help in event of a collision barring the occasional nudges in bumper to bumper traffic.

I honestly think you should spend the additional bit and take the plunge and buy the Innova. Trust me, you would not look back for the next 10 years at least. Having been an Innova owner for the last 10 years and with zero faults, the ownership has been completely hassle-free. And lastly, the additional 3-4 lakh premium is more of an investment that you will reap over the years with complete peace of mind and very less visits to the service station. Knowing you, you can make it a yearly ritual of visiting the showroom in the form of a nice 600km road trip.

Finally the unexpected car change looks to hit us much earlier than expected, thanks to Covid-19. Sorry for the long post here.
This change is basically for the automatic transmission need for wife to travel to office everyday. She was using public transport in Bangalore, and I am not going to get satisfied making her do it again in the near future thanks to how the situation has changed with respect to the global pandemic.

So, the change would be from Baleno RS to the Hyundai Venue 1.0 SX+ DCT. Yes, before everyone point the finger at me at using Dual clutch transmissions in traffic, especially Bangalore traffic, her travel would be approximately 14kms one side, with around 6kms of it through ORR. I really dont expect a Hyundai gearbox to seize with such usage. If so, will have to see then. Couldn't find a more engaging and feature loaded car in that price bracket.
Have been investigating on the cars in that price bracket for over a month now and found the Venue convincing, due to the features on offer. Primary choice was the Ford Ecosport 1.5 AT, but thanks to no Carplay and AA(and way too many features removed), I had to give it a miss. As my usage would include 90% highway driving, Carplay and AA is utmost important for me, or Maruti has spoiled me with the same. The unsuspecting future of Ford too worries me. Polo GT with Torque converter was set to arrive late last month, but now as per the dealer, its a good 3 months late. So that too has been ruled out.

Moving from a 1.0 turbo manual to a 1.0 turbo automatic in short terms. There are a few more things to take care like loan and certain other stuff. Have found a buyer for RS through a local True Value showroom and they were extremely helpful and provided way more money than Hyundai if I was exchanging with them.

Make : Hyundai
Model : BS6 Venue SX+ DCT
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : 14/06/2020
Color : Denim Blue/Polar White(Need to fix it today after speaking with bank)

Booked a new car in Bangalore on Saturday, 13th June 2020.

Make : Volkswagen
Model : Polo
Variant : Highline Plus 1.0 TSi 6 MT
Fuel Type : Petrol
Booking Date : 13th June 2020
Color : Flash Red
Expected Delivery Date : Approximately 3 weeks
Ex-Showroom : Rs 8,02,300
OTR : Rs 9,40,000, original quoted OTR was Rs 9.93L without any discounts (inclusive of 5th year extended warranty, and B2B insurance).

Freebies : Essential kit.

Discounts : Loyalty Discount of Rs 10K (Though the Škodas are in my father's name), Corporate Discount of Rs 5K, Corporate Loyalty Discount of Rs 5K, B2B insurance at about 32K and some other adjustments to the tune of about 15K. Total came to Rs 9,42,xxx, which was rounded down to Rs 9.4L

The OTR also includes the extended warranty for the 5th year.

The car is an addition to our existing garage, and is for my use in Bangalore. Its main usage, however, would be to travel home to Trivandrum.

I believe the total reduction in price would be to the tune of about Rs 53K from what is listed in the price list. I didn't want to haggle any more since this was the best deal that I found across the different dealers in Bangalore.

Extras : I have asked for the OEM reverse camera, as well as the OEM sunshades for the rear doors and hatch glass (Had the OEM sun shades in my ex-Vento, and found them to be really useful. Would help over and above the factory fitted tinted glass that the TSi gets, especially on the highways). Prices for both accessories are yet to be shared.

So my dad purchased a pre owned 2018, 12.5K run Ecosport S TDCI! We were also considering going for a 2019 Maruti Ciaz and you can read about it here- https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sedan...3l-diesel.html

Quoted price was 10 Lakh, we managed to shave off just 35K. Frankly speaking, the product was in extremely pristine condition and we were impressed. Booked and brought home the car on the same date!
Planned accessories include (all 4 at Ford dealership)-
1) Illuminated scuff plates
2) Puddle lamps on all 4 doors
3) Rear ambient lighting
4) Illuminated gear knob

We will also be purchasing Ford's EW on this weekend.

Hi Vyas! Congratulations on your new steed.
Just wanted to ask that the delivery date is indeed tomorrow or '25/7/2020'?
If it is tomorrow, then how? Is it pre-owned? Since the delivery of a new car takes around 4-5 days minimum.
