Also, would like to know what made you go for a City V over a Verna SX? Thanks!

I went for V model of Honda City as it met my requirements. City is overall a better product compared to Verna in terms of space, fuel efficiency, safety, features. VX and ZX variants of Honda City are priced 14.5 and 15.5 lakhs on road respectively for manual transmission. Verna SX though cheaper than City V model lacks ESP and the rear seat is cramped.

Make : Maruti
Model : Ignis
Variant : Zeta AMT
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : 11-Oct-2020
Color : Silky Silver
Expected Delivery Date : 25-Oct-2020
Dealer & City : Simran Motors Nexa, Kharghar

Others: Exchanged my old car (i20) through a close family member working with the dealership, got really good pricing on that. Cant disclose the deal.

Finally booked the car for my dad after convincing him for so long. The i20 served well, but its time to move on after 10.5 years of really good ownership experience.

Its a long story that started back in July. Sonet was on my radar, and its a really good car. But paying the Kia premium for a handful of features did not agree with my wallet.

Short version Venue is the 2.5 lakhs cheaper(with discounts) and provides everything I need.

A friend is looking to buy Sonet or venue. please suggest the price you paid for Venue DCT. Many Thanks

Hi All,

I so wanted to post this. After a lot of deliberation and waiting we have finally booked the Kia Sonet.

Make : Kia
Model : Sonet
Variant : GTX+(6 AT)
Fuel : Diesel
Booking Date : 17-Oct-2020
Booking Amount: INR 25K
Color : Glacier White Pearl (Single Tone)
Expected Delivery Date : The dealer has quoted 4 - 5 weeks waiting time. Expecting
delivery by 20-Nov-2020
Dealer & City : Autobahn Kia (Andheri, Mumbai)
Price : INR 15.53 (Including 2 years extended warranty)
Discounts: Are you kidding me?
Freebies: What's that?
Accessories: None available at the time of booking.
Exchange: Traded our 12 yr old immaculately maintained Tata Indica Vista. The resale
value quoted by the dealer was pathetic. But we didn't wanted the hassle of
roaming around. Hence exchanged at the dealership itself.

Our sales guy was quite upfront in letting us know that he isn't selling the car but the car is selling itself!

Here is booking detail of my new car-

Make : Tata
Model : Nexon
Variant : XM
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : 19/10/2020
Color : Daytona Grey
Expected Delivery Date : Dealer says there is waiting period of around 20 days
Dealer & City : SAB Motors, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad
Freebies : :), they just gave me a smile
Accessories: Planning to fit a rear view camera and front fog lamps at dealer
Others : Took TD of my final shortlisted 3 cars viz Altroz, Venue Turbo Petrol and Nexon. It was Nexon which have most ticks as per my requirement and also came up as wife's favorite.

Wait is on now.

After much deliberation and multiple test drives , I booked a Nissan Kicks XV 1.3 Premium.

Vehicles TD’d:
1. Ecosport - Really liked it and the top end Sports variant would’ve been within my budget. Did not go ahead with it because I wanted something a bit less common
2. Mahindra Thar- Until I TD’d the Thar, I was dead set on the Kicks and was just waiting till my finances cleared up. After the first test drive of the Thar though, everything bet upside down. I test drove it and it was so effortless (I started driving last year and currently drive an Etios Liva hatchback). For a few days after, convinced my parents and brother that the Thar was gonna be it and then, the lack of boot space and highway manners dawned on me. Dropped it at that point. But boy oh boy was I obsessed with the Thar after the TD.
3. I’d been eyeing the Kicks for a while because of its rarity and i was particularly enamoured by its looks and the engine. Not much of a goer for fancy connected features so was certain this was what I’d wanted over Kia/Hyundai. Test drove it and for the first SUV I ever drove, it was so smooooth. Finally booked it after a month. I must say however that I hated all the dealers in my city for Nissan. Bunch of quacks that don’t know anything and extremely pushy.

Details:
Model: Kicks XV 1.3 Pre
Color: Red
On-Road Price: 15.18L after 30k discount
City: Hyderabad

First of all, congratulations on the new car.
Looking at your OTR price I find the Harrier overly priced here for what it offers.
Quick question, why didn't you get the dark edition?
Cheers!

The road tax in Bangalore does that to every car. Are you saying I could have negotiated for more discount or its just overly priced (in absolute terms)?
I didn't go for the dark edition because of 2 reasons mainly - difficulty to maintain black color (my current car is also black) and I couldn't justify a 50k premium just for the choice of a color.

Is that discount including any corporate/ similar ones?
I'm being offered a discount of 10k+8k for govt employees for V Mt. Does that sound good or low.?

We are in this day when Kia Sonet sells for 15 lakhs in road, the Creta tops 20 lakhs on road.

With 5 years insurance, the OTR price is not much for the car that the harrier is. A very well built spacious comfortable 5 seater with high quality interiors and a nice 2.0 diesel engine from fiat and an AT box from Hyundai.

I only can nitpick on the QC issues that all Tatas are plagued by.

What are your impressions after driving the ecosports ? I am guessing it was a petrol ?

I drove the Diesel top variant EcoSport actually. Zippy to drive and fun to manoeuver in the city. Salesperson was also very professional and NOT pushy. I think the reason I chose not to go Ashraf with it was that there were 5-7 EcoSports in my society alone and really wanted something unique.

I must say however that the Kicks felt so good to drive. It’s stable and can handle anything in terms of bad roads without a thud in the cabin. And the engine is just begging to be revved and responds promptly. I also wanted to kinda stay away from cars with too many fancy electronics because I don’t believe it’s in a car manufacturers best interest to make long lasting electronic heavy products (think cellphones and how often they go out of fashion) so didn’t even test drive the Korean twins.

At the end, my dumb irrational mind didn’t want to do the responsible thing for my wallet and peace of mind and decided to fixate on the Nissan Kicks. I guess thrills can only be had when there is an appetite for risk so let’s see how this goes

Booked a honda city v after cancelling skoda rapid. Main reason being first car and didn't want to deal with uncertainty of skoda after sales service, better space and expecting more of city usage than highway. City felt better in city drive.
Also unaware of the reliability of 1L TSI.
