Hyundai Ioniq 5 to be launched on January 11

Hyundai will also showcase the Ioniq 6 electric sedan at Auto Expo 2023.

Hyundai has confirmed that the Ioniq 5 will be launched on the sidelines of the upcoming Auto Expo on January 11, 2023. Bookings have been open since December 21, 2022.

The Ioniq 5 is based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The EV comes with two battery options: 58 kWh and 72.6 kWh, offering up to 480 km of range (WLTP cycle). The base version is powered by a single electric motor which has an output of 165 BHP and 350 Nm. The dual-motor version packs 298 BHP and 605 Nm and is said to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds.

In India, Hyundai will offer the larger battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 631 km and a rear-mounted electric motor. The Ioniq 5 also supports 800V fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10-80% in 18 minutes.

Hyundai will also showcase the Ioniq 6 electric sedan at Auto Expo 2023. It is available with two battery options and comes in single or dual-motor configurations. The single motor variant with the 53 kWh battery packs 225 BHP and 350 Nm. It has a claimed WLTP range of 429 km, while the larger 77.4 kWh battery is said to deliver 614 km of range.

The AWD version of the Ioniq 6 with the dual motor setup packs 316 BHP and 605 Nm and has a range of 583 km.
