Force one reviews so far

There are a couple of reviews on the Force one, given below are some highlights. Plenty of comments on the circa 90s looks, but I have not included this as the matter is subjective.

Positives:
  • Sprightly engine,albeit small lag
  • Plenty of legroom
  • Plenty of features
  • Decent handling (better than Scorpio...not saying much), Softly sprung thus good ride quality.
  • Chunky steering
Negatives:
  • Gearbox unsorted, Hard gear shifts
  • Switchgear, interior quality - so so
  • High floor, poor under thigh support, head room poor in third row
Looking forward to a comprehensive Team bhp review.

Re: Force Motors SUV to be launched. EDIT: Launched @ 11lac Ex-showroom Mumbai

my point of view is its bang for your money considaring the metal you are getting ! considaring value for money how would you justify the toyota fortuner's price ? its too highly overpriced, people buy it for metal they get for that money.

Re: Force Motors SUV to be launched. EDIT: Launched @ 11lac Ex-showroom Mumbai

having owned a Bajaj Tempo Trax - Judo for 8 years before moving onto a scorpio i have a lot of experience with the company. They have always had the best engines technically, my judo is still running without a hitch 11 years later but unfortunately they havent been able to connect with the indian consumer.
The consumer today has the money and wants the frills and features like abs etc, the judo had a great ac & power steering but something as basic as the lock was a plastic piece which had to be pushed up. The engine was cracking and made heads turn on the highway while overtaking but something as basic as a 5th gear wasnt given.

i have only seen pics of this new offering and see similar mistakes, a very boxy shape which doesnt match up to the scorpios/innovas of its segment. By just putting LED running lights you will not win over consumers, again the engine & gearbox seem top notch but the indian consumer wont get swayed just by that alone. The frill factor needs to be put in, lets hope the 2012 model has it.

its defiantly caught my eye, looking forward to a test drive and a detailed bhp review.

cheers

Has anyone from Tbhp booked the beast yet? Any first in person impressions or test drives?

Re: Force Motors SUV to be launched. EDIT: Launched @ 11lac Ex-showroom Mumbai

any idea when the team-bhp review is due ? that should make things clear with the most comprehensive review in the entire industry. I really expect this SUV to be very competitive. Only issue being panel gaps, fit & finish of which one really can't set the target too high since this is an area where so many have failed inspite of abundant resources and to expect that from a company importing chinese body panels would be asking too much.

With regards to the fit and finish, it may not be great, but I think we can compare it to Safari (except the center console) o scorpio?

Force Motors Launches One SUV In India | MotorBeam - Indian Car Bike News & Reviews

See the pics on motorbeam. They seem to have a lot of pictures!

A lot of reviews suggest that this is better than scorpio; however, scorpio has improved in terms of quality by leaps and bounds, is feature loaded and can be serviced literally everywhere.

Did anyone notice the gearing? Not sure if I have seen a reverse which is left-down and not in line with first. Is that present in other cars also?

A few cars had it in India earlier with slight differences. For example the older Sumos had a dog leg reverse which was to the left of the 1st gear and the Cielo and Astra too had a similar pattern.

True. Same for the old Sierra and I believe even the Skoda Octy and Yeti have that shift pattern. This one is totally new. If I were Force Marketing I'd call it a revolutionary gear shift pattern and put it on the brochure.

Force ain't so immature to "Forget" them.
The vehicle, at present, has been launched at a specific price point with certain features that is targeted to a certain set of consumers and hence, after gauging the market reaction and feedback, the Co may/will introduce more relevant features.

NB: I do not work for/associated with Force Motors.

Re: Force Motors SUV to be launched. EDIT: Launched @ 11lac Ex-showroom Mumbai

i cant wait to get my hands on this beast, i know it has a dated boxy appearance but then so does the Endeavor. missing the airbags and abs is a big no no in a 10 lakh + car.

But the beaut of an engine and gear box have caught my imagination. my tempo trax judo was very similar, though it lacked in many modern amenities; it had the most killer engine which when upto speed was a pleasure to drive.

and i have a hunch this vehicle is going to be similar.

Looks great. The brochures with AB look classy as hell too.

I must confess I am impressed. There was a teaser advert with the half shut garage door on display in Pune for the past couple of weeks. I had pointed it out and cackled disparagingly.

Take it all back now- eagerly awaiting the official review!
