Vibe ? Now that is a crass act that will be hard to beat for crudeness and ugliness ! I hope TML are not going out of their way to beat that one. They should try hard to get better the competition. Except this one .

Mahindra's poor design aesthetic skills along with a jugaad boot makes the Vibe one of the worst Indian car designs seen recently. That said M&M are putting in a lot of time and effort to better their design game.

Tata Kite (Zica) Compact Sedan to be called 'Sway'

Tata Motors is likely to name the compact sedan version of the Zica as Sway. This new compact sedan will be powered by the same a 1.2-litre petrol (three cylinder) and a 1.05-litre diesel engine (again three-cylinder) seen in the Zica.

The Sway will be launched in the second half of 2016. This new compact sedan will be getting same interiors like the Zica

The Sway will be priced below the Zest and this will be an affordable compact sedan

The article also says it will get a bigger boot than the Zest and will create a new segment below the compact sedan. What would that be? A micro sedan? (Edit: Guess its a notch-back).

Edit: Also noticed that the name Zica and Sway were mentioned in page 2. Guess it is official now.

Yup, the name was available a while back on the Kite(Zica) thread as well.

The Indigo CS is a well proportioned (the best, IMO) compact sedan, even till this day. With the Sway, Tata will have another CS meant for the private buyer.

As it will undercut the Zest in pricing - which already undercuts all of the other compact sedans in the market - I think they mean new price band for a compact sedan when the say new segment. A CS at the price of a B segment hatch, maybe? We'll know for sure once they reveal the pricing of the Zica.

I'd pretty kicked if it's a notchback...they seem to have a better stance compared to compact sedans. Not sure if it'll be a new segment though, the Laura's a notchback isn't it? Also the first sub 10 lakh notchback was the Accent Viva - I guess - or maybe the original Octavia when it was launched(can't remember at what price it was launched).

Pricing is going to be real challenge for this car , i do not know where will they position this zica sedan as they already have zest which is a good car but for some reason not doing great numbers. Also to keep quality at par with the competition at a price point which undercuts most competition will be difficult. Hopefully zica/zica sedan do not cannibalize on market shares of its elder siblings , although they are a notch apart when it comes to positioning.

Guys. Guess, Tata motors will unviel the Zica sedan soon as well. see the spy shots below. The car was being accompanied by Tata zest (with its logo masked), which makes me feel this is (TATA) Zica sedan, add to that the honey comb grill. Took these while going towards Satara.

Zica's sedan sibling will look much more proportioned than others in the segment since TATA has 254 mm to play with. Segment standard is 3995 mm, going by this TATA will have 249 mm for the Sway

According to Autocar India latest issue under confidential it says that TATA Sway will have 420 Liter Boot ,largest in the segment, does this means it will eat into rear passenger space ?

According to a report by oncars.in, that the compact sedan will be showcased at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo.

According to some friendly birdies, apparently Zica sedan is quite a looker. It will be a notchback with a very rakish C-pillar which will house a quarterglass thus presenting a very attractive side profile. Think Standard/Rover 2000 in a sleeker, modern compact avatar
Possibly will be exhibited at Auto Expo with sales around Diwali 2016.
