Thanks for that link - joining up! Joined actually. Well, liked more actually.

And a reason for me to celebrate - Saphire Honda called me today to say that I can finish all formalities and get my bike. Now, only problem is that I was expecting some money which has failed to turn up. So forced to go for finance. Do they only give my bike after finance documentation is done?

Great News!!! Yes, they will give the bike only after they receive the finances (Cheque is cleared or You give them a DD)

Once the money is in their account only then will the registration and insurance process start.

Congratulations in advance!!! Look forward to you receiving your bike soon and initial ownership experience as well.

Not Completely sure, I will check once back home. However, from what I remember it is as follows :-

1st Service - 1000kms / 30 days from date of purchase (not delivery so please be careful)

2nd Service - 6000kms / 6 months from date of purchase

3rd Service - 12000kms / 12 months from date of purchase

This is all I remember as off now. Will update once I read after I have the service book on me.

Also, please make sure you take the Extended Warranty. Details Here :- http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motorb...ml#post2350283

Here are the scanned pages from EW Book :- http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motorb...ml#post2377356

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

I'm planning on opening up the engine within 3 months of purchase. Same with swapping the ECU for a standalone. Guess I'll just swap over OEM parts if I need to claim warranty for any problem lol.

Any thoughts on the balance shaft?

Who is going to do the cam grinding? Regrinding from the originals? If so, where are you going to get the originals?

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

If possible, will regrind from the originals. Used cores will be exchanged for new reground ones. If people don't want to part with their original cams, new ones will be sourced from Honda directly. I do not want to run aftermarket billets because of the reduction in quality. For cam grinding, have a couple of companies in mind. Want to work with someone who can keep my profile private; let's see.

As for the balance shaft, all effort will be made to keep the weight of the reciprocating assembly the same. I will need access to an engine to figure out anything further than that if there is a change in weight.

Sure you (a privateer) can source cams from Honda?

Re: Balance shafts - thinking along different lines.

Anyway, lets not hijack this thread.

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

Yes, I can source OE Honda cams if required. Not talking about virgin billets here, but already machined brand new cams that would do duty on a CBR.

Will discuss about the balance shaft once I have the bike and some experience with the engine. No point in me talking anything right now without having seen it myself. Looking forward to some good discussion.
