Dear Friends, any suggestions for good alloys for my TB 500 2015 model. Has anyone in the forum changed to alloys. If you have, any suggestions for a place in Bangalore for this. Are there are any downsides of changing to alloys?

Ravi Sir , please place the phone in a pouch with a chord running behind it. The chord should be secured to your body or bike. As a DIY guy, I am sure you can create it. Ref RYNOX holder.

There is this set of alloy wheels which is sold by fixwell motors off JC Road. They are in the same complex as Sandhya Automobiles.

Regarding their performance, one of my known acquaintance is using them and has so far not reported any issues. But he uses the bike for purely city riding.
They will give you the benefits of tubeless tires incase you upgrade the tires as well.

Yes looks very much similar, has a funny name to it.

Its called simply Harley alloy at local shops here, because its a copy of a Harley wheel. Chinese alloy. Finish is quite good. No idea how it works though. I would personally not ride a Bullet on anything but spoked wheels.

Me too chief, I have always been a fan of spoke wheels and will not want to trade it for the alloy wheels. Never too sure on the quality of such stuff.

Thanks folks.

So what is the advantage of a spoke wheel over alloys. My TB500 is just completed 200Kms I can already see the back wheel wobbling due to mis alignment. I thought moving to an alloy would avoid visiting the service center often for this problem.

Advantages

Spoke Wheels can take you anywhere. They can be ridden on all sorts of roads and you can limp home in case of any rim bent issue or stuff like that.

Spoke Wheels can be nursed back to condition in case of slight bent/Out by truing the wheel. (Spokes Tightening as per flow) as long as the deviation is within acceptable terms

Disadvantages

Need a tube in the tire to make them work, and in case of punctures there is almost an immediate loss of air.

Tubeless tires are easy on maintenance and you can fix a puncture yourself. This is a great boon when you travel on highways

Alloys have a higher chance of breaking/bend when ridden carelessly over bad roads


But am not sure how much of a serious motorcyclist you are. So please take a call based on your near and dear ones

Yeah Chinese. Saw the carton in a friend's shop.

But you never know. By now Dilli copies might be there.

I happened to chat with a owner who had come for service in Company service center here. He had installed this in his new CL350 and within 1 month of using it, he had to replace the front wheel bearing thrice. I dont know if alloy wheel design has anything to do with this or his driving style, but I would say better check out with multiple users before plonking money on it.

It could be a one off issue and I personally feel that this is more of a labor/Misops related issue where the seating of bearing would have gone kaput.

Mould used will be same and I doubt if its a design issue.

yes the quality of material getting into those moulds is questionable but design i think no?
if design was an issue then by now everybody would have replaced their bearings.
