And I was wondering when Tejas would react to Tejus!

Give my reference. Say Dr. Kothari with the Jeep.
Or if he does not remember him just say "Teju"

Call Kulwinder/Kulu on 9821111284. This guy is the Importer for Maxxis tyres. Tell him i gave you his number and that you are my friend (Alternatively you may also say you are Teju's, friend's friend )

Goji,

This same official importer quoted me 6800 per tyre first and then when i said i'll get them from bangalore, he came down to 6200 without skipping a heartbeat.

My dealer got them for 5250.

7.00X16 8PLY NDMS Tyres

I recently contacted Speedways Tyres regarding availability of 7.00-16 NDMS 8 Ply tyres.
The price I was quoted was Rs.4450.00 per Tyre + Rs.350.00 per Tube (VAT 13.75% is extra).
Is the price okay? Looks to be on the higher side to me.

Cheers

Hey Vaibhav
In my opinion the price is very much on the higher side, but the frustrating thing is, no other manufacturer is producing tyres in this specification.
Like Naveen recently bought 6x16's for 2.6 or 2.8k a tyre tube. So paying a premium of 2k per tyre I think is too much.
2.8k * 5 = 14k
4.8k * 5 = 24k

I think 10 k on the overall deal is quite high!!!

That is exactly what I think.
Maybe if more Tbhpians are interested in buying these tyres, we could try for a bulk order discount.
It would be good if we can get the tyre and tube combo for under RS.4000

Hi, looking at your previous post, i guess your query was widening tyres on your jeep which is having 16" rims currently,am i right? Now here is my limited knowledge on the topic:
Jeeps and gypsies have a PCD of 139.7 with a 5 bolt pattern. Stock jeep steel rims or gypsy rims fulfill the criterion but these are good to accommodate tyres of a certain size and not suitable for wider/bigger tyres. So if you want to switch to a bigger/wider tyres (e.g. 31") you need to change the wheels/rims as well. And the only option is alloys or good quality more expensive offroad steel rims. But here the usual problem is, options are limited in case of alloys with 139.7 PCD. In 15" still you can find some, but in 16" inch it is even more limited (not to mention that price of tyres and alloys shoot up in 16" category). So to get a wider range of options, the easiest way is to change the hubs to convert the PCD from 139.7 to 160 (what we see in scorpio/bolero) and get alloys with 160 PCD. I feel it is better to stick to 15" size, see what options of alloys you have in 15" 139.7 PCD. If you find something good, go for it, else look at the options in 160 PCD and change the hubs accordingly. Hope i 've been able to express the thoughts properly.
Experts can further pour their comments.

I was looking for 7.00*16 NDMS tyres and contacted Super King. They seems to have the 7.00*16 NDMS available with them.
Please see the response from them below:
Any idea on the quality of the tyres from Super King?
Can 7.00*16 NDMS go on a standard CJ3B steel rims?

--------------------

Tyre size 700-16 12PR Lug pattern 33 will cost you as under:

Basic price : Rs. 2900.00
Excise duty @ 10.3% : Rs. 298.70
-----------------
: Rs. 3198.70
Vat : Rs. 496.00
-----------------
: Rs. 3694.70
-----------------

Ex-factory price for one tyre : Rs. 3694.70
Cost of five tyres : Rs. 3694.70 x 5 = 18473.50

You will have to pay US the above amount in advance to enable us to send you the tyres.

Please note that you will have to bear the cost of freight from Delhi to Bangalore.
