Folks... can we debate this please... I have an install coming up in ten days.... and I need to identify the equipment immly - for me to beg/borrow/steal the funds to ensure they land in time!

Two way active Vs. Two way Passive

Third option Three way passsive - three way active will have to wait till I can afford the HX-D2... LBM... Where Are Youuuu ... :o(

thinking will buy another 4 channel Tru amp - If we do two way front active then I have the extra channel for rear fill. ... AND all I need to do is to remove the rear fill when I go three way active.. hmmmmmmmmmm

Why Tru?... Sonic Balance that comes with using same family of amplification.

Intelligent option perhaps .. to shut my trap and just put passives and be done with it!

Man one the two way active you might save some money on the crossoversbut will have to buy the amp for the same to power ur tweeters. But beware even a single mistake will make smoke come out off ur exotic tweeters. and they will be gone for ever. And if u go for active so I assume u will be connecting the component kit 6.5 woofer with the tru I assume so u will be not getting the full utilising the tru in that case and for the tweeter u will have to buy a new amp for the tweeter as I said earlier.

So from my best opinion go with 2-way passvie and later on with collecting some more green stuff u can upgrade it later.........And it will be a foolish thing to invest so much togther in one go......Rest it is ur money .......

KB100,

Active any day...if you can..it gives you more control, flexibility, you can mix and match the drivers (not possible in passive), no passive crossover distortion and you can use time alignment to its full potential.

JB

The Pio P80RS does only Front + rear + Sub ... or HIgh + MId+ Low, .. therefore if we go active rear fill sare out of the question entirely.

IF I want rear fill and yet go active in the fron t then I necessarily have to consider the HXD2.. right?.. any other Hu /Ext crossover can give this faciliy?

JB... additional amplification required to go active...

I have narrowed down on either the Audison SRX 2 or the Tru Tech T4.65.

Now the tru will keep everythign in the same family... may mean even the Timbre of the sound may be matched.. But one channel will go unused rite now (possibly future proof - in threeway terms)

SRX2 well just the two channels so fits the requirement (no wasted channels)- and cheaper to boot!

Can you tell me the differences between the SRX and the Tru in the application that we are debating.. and the difference sonically - if any..
