ICE for Innova

Looking for ICE for Innova V. It has 6 speakers as per the brochure.

What are the speakers in the front. I mean near the vents. Where to place tweeters?

What speakers to go for. I want to keep the stock HU. Is it USB compatible.

I spoke to a ICE dealer. I want to know how good are DLS B3 Compos? I was thinking of putting 4 of them.

Also he said JBL 75.4 has problems of blowing speakers which i dont believe. He was telling me to go for Blaupunkt GT4 amp.

Damping - Is it required in the Innova.

Budget is 15k

A word of advice.....change the dealer you go to. I have been personally using 75.4 , since last one year without any problems.

GT4 amps are good, but 75.4 is equally good and looks better than blau.. BTW i have used both the amps the blaupunkt and JBL.

I personally find JBL better, because my blau amp used to overheat very soon. JBL amp since the day i have installed, touch-wood has never tripped dur to over heating.

All in all, if I were you, then i would be doing two things:
1) Went to a more sensible dealer
2) Installed JBL

BTW....who is this dealer?

Dude but your budget is really tight for either of the amps

I agree about the looks part. But this is the ICE section, its all about how it sounds. If I were to buy something that looks good, I'd put up a poster of Salma Hayek in my car.

Busa, I would choose the 75.4. Its a nice amp and the topic of blowing up speakers comes only when the installer is plain stupid.

Where's our in house DLS specialist? He will be here very shortly.

Budget is 15k? Strictly?
Then I would suggest to go for a step by step upgrade.

I don't think the stock HU is USB compatible. It's a very basic Hu. Nothing much to be said about it.
And the 6 speakers means 4 dual cone speakers in 4 doors and 2 tweeters in mirror pods.

You want 4 speakers and an amp for 15K?

I dont think components will fit that budget. so either you get coax speakers and an amp (the JBL 75.4 might also not fit that budget) or just 4 componentsand use the HU to drive them (you can add the amp later).

DLS make some very nice speakers. I would suggest to audition if you can before buying. They are available in india but they are very expensive here. If you can get them from dubai nothing like it.

running good comps of the head unit direct..not a good idea..not using them to there true potential..but then it is your call..without an amplifier and that budget you are better off with co axials..need decent power to run components not the 15-18 rms given by head units

Later on, he can add an amp. So, It's wiser to buy comps now.

yeah..he can like i said its his call. but then till he buys the amp he has to manage..so if the amp is in the near future go for it..DLS is good..i remember using them 4 yrs back and people in india had not heard them but Anwar put their minds at ease..they are really good but need amplification.

Yes! Nicely put, Iceman!
Running those comps without an amp is like taking a girl out on a date and not kissing her!

Which amp should i go, how is Blaupunkt.

Front tweeters should be placed in stock tweeter location and rears should be flush mounted?
