Bhai McLBM, this needs some more illustration to understand, sir.

LMAO!

I think he means to say Ashok should make fiberglass tweeter pods attached to the same point on the A-pillar to aim the tweets a bit more towards the cabin. Could be wrong. I'm not sure what McLBM () latest tweeter mount is.

Thanks, KK! Yep, that is a neon strip. Here's a pic. The light is actually quite a bit brighter, but I could not get the pic to come out that well. I'm pretty much dumb around cameras

Thanks, FB! Can't hold a candle to your setup, though!
The speakers are crossed over at 80hz, 12db/octave. The tweeters are attenuated to -7dB in the XO.

I guess I will try out an FG pod sooner or later and I do know it will most likely sound better that way. This is just a "best compromise of all factors" for the time being. Do post some pics of the way you've installed the tweeters in pods.

Thanks, akbaree! My installer has a few custom-bent clamp-like things that he uses to screw the boards that way. One end of the clamp gets screwed onto the body, and the board is screwed onto the other end of the clamp.

Not really! But yes, I am generally happy with everything except the HU. When I upgrade the HU I'll probably get something more serious (which will cost quite a bit more) and I'll need to brace my pockets for that. Recession, marriage and all that, heh heh.

Neither did I. But, things change after marryage, right? One stops living for self-satisfaction only!

@hydra - trust me, you have some fabulous equipment thats very well installed, what would be nice is a HU upgrade (P80 or Nak CD700) especially the latter since you are going with a passive front stage...

I was interested in knowing the crossover point for the tweeter. While using XS in my car I had found 3.5-4Khz optimal, if I remember correctly.

^^ Thanks again, FB! The next upgrade would definitely be a HU upgrade.

The Tweeter's filter is set at 3.9kHz in the XO (probably the same as yours -- the setting just below it is 3.5kHz). Getting the settings right in the XO is definitely a long-drawn-out exercise

Amazing work Anup . Nice to see the spirit still alive even after being Mrs-ised . I am curious about one thing though . Shouldn't the tweeter be facing the person for better sound reproduction (by using pods) or is it better that it faces the glass. I can understand that poor quality tweeters produce lots of hissing and pissing sounds and hence its better to have its face towards the glass but since your components has good/true sound reproduction capability , shouldn't the tweeters be facing inwards towards each seat ?
