ICE Upgrade in Hydra's Hatch II (Swift Zxi) - Alpine, Image Dynamics, TRU Tech

ICE is back in my life. Fiiiiiiinally. It has been a long 4-month wait for me, before I could throw the crappy stock ICE in the Swift out, and get my good old gear back in.

For those who came in late, this is how the ICE used to be in my old car: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...-upgraded.html

Well, not all of the good old gear made it back into the car. Here's what is new:

These are the Image Dynamics XS65 2-way components. Yep. EXceSssssss!

For those who know about my earlier front-stage plans, I'd already 'upgraded' from Rainbow Soundline SLC-NGs to the ID XS65 comps even before the install

I'm going to keep it front + sub only this time. No rear-fill.

The good old Hertz ESK163s and ECX130s have been found a new home with a loving and deserving owner.

Other than the front speakers, the same old gear is going back in:

Head Unit: Alpine 9887 with full-speed iPod cable
Speaker amp
: Audison SRx4
Sub Amp: Audison LRx1.4
Sub: Image Dynamics IDQ12-D2V2 in a 0.75 cu.ft. sealed box
Wiring & Accessories: Connection Audison

The install is of course, by Zuheimi.

A whole lot of damping is being done. A whole lot, that is, by "normal person" standards. I've mostly given a free hand on the damping part to Zuheimi. He will do what is necessary

I've asked for maximum boot-space to be left free. But I've also asked him, again, to do what is "necessary".

I've just got back after dropping the car off. The install should be complete by late evening tomorrow. I just can't wait!

I'm not sure if I can go check on the car today evening, as there are a whole lot of family commitments (in fact just just managed by the skin of my teeth to get the car out and escape, in the morning).

I will update with pics and initial impressions as soon as I can.

Ah, a good choice! I think you're going to be very pleasantly surprised with their performance....

Zuhemi & you are going to have a ball with all the crossover options on this one...unless of course you go active with your front stage
