You will need to fabricate a custom MDF spacer. It will have to be made so as to fot on the door panel contours. About .75" MDF will do the trick.

Who is your dealer/installer in Pune?

Moralfibre, welcome to the Palio club :-) I drive a Palio 1.2 ELX.

Believe me, you've got your upgrade plan down perfectly. Come March 2007 (your sub and amp), you'll have a real kick@$$ system that nobody will call basic.

Bass Reflex vs. Sealed box will depend on your tastes. Listen to both with a couple of your favourite songs. You'll know exactly which one you want.
Sealed = Tighter bass with lesser boooooom. Less loud with the same amp.
Ported = Bass that's a bit more boomy and surrounding/enveloping. Plays louder with the same amp.

I have 6 inchers on my front doors. A spacer, as Sam suggested would be the best way to do the install. YOu'll need to screw the spacer onto the door, and then the speaker onto the spacer.

My installer uh... took a rubber mallet to the doors and tapped up the opening enough so the 6" speakers fitted properly. But my speakers are Blau ODx, which are very very flat, with very little install depth. With regular speakers, you'll most likely (almost certainly) need spacers.

You are most welcome.
BTW I think in december you should have to install Mono amp and Sub rather than four channel amp.

Ok guys finally got the chance to get my system fitted..
I got it done from Touqueer of autofusion in bangalore..
Sam he sends his regards and this is wat he reccomended
1. Pioneer 6850 HU - 10500/- without bill
2. JBL GT 607 components on the front and rear fitted on doors (the darndest thing is the jbl meshes dont fit on there.. !! )
-(quote with warranty was 6500)
After some give and take agot the entire setup for 22.5And in doing that, overshot my budget by 7.5k.
He did not give me the provision of fitting the speakers and then trying out different HUs as Sam had reccomended. He said that for my budget, the pioneer is the best bet.
Clarity seems good till now.. I was really inclined towards Alpine but for the same price the pioneer apparently has more to offer..
Am still to try it out with my music.. will do and let u guys know by the evening..
Tell me guys - do the rates sound ok?

Prices are about right I'd say. If you want to cut on the budget, you can install GTO637 in the rear, that's fine.

And Thouqeer's the MAN! lol Say hi to him.

Mayank congrats on your ICE.

The pio 6850 is a good HU. nothing to worry about. I had the same setup installed in my bosses scorpio and it sounds great. I also got the installation done from Anwar of autofusion.

6850 has loads of features just play around with the settings and you will find they type of sound you are looking for.

If you can't get the tuning properly i suggest you carry a few of the CD's you listen to often and take it to anwar. His tuning skills are very good and he will be able to set it up.

The only difference i had with my bosses setup was he had a JBL CS60.4 for all the speakers which sounded realy awesome.

The 6850 has lots of settings which you can play around with. Read the manual you will find all the settings.
