Sam,
Just saw the ad in ACI mag about the JBL bass tube being available in 10". Could you let me know the price in bangalore.

Also i needed to know prices of a few more JBL stuff here as i think i'm getting a very high price here at sprocket. for e.g. he quoted Rs.8990 for CS60.4 amp.

Should i e-mail you the list?

And, how about the details of the CS series compos pls.?

OT: just read the ad and was amazed to see "Rtech: What me? Dandiya?" LOL.

Hello bro,
10" bass tube will be sold at 4990/-

8990/- is the correct price for 60.4.

The CS components were launched 3 days ago. There is only one model, CS2165C. This is a 6.5" component set. It is actually a GTO 6 series product. We have learned a lot from Ferrari F1 lol. However it only has an inline crossover for the tweeter, no external crossover.

It is amazing VFM at 4990/-

There is a product CS2165 which is a 2 way. I'm confused between the 2.

Is this the one:

This is a 2-way if I'm not mistaken.

CS2165C baba.....

You will be able to buy it across Bangalore from today. Most dealers don't know it yet, so don't be surprised by the blank stare.

NO NO Not a 3 way component!!! Sorry the picture is a little misleading. No we have 3 way components ONLY in infinity.

This is a CS series entry level 2 way component set. 6.5" mid woofer and tweeter. It is actually a GTO6506C (GTO 6 series, 6.5" component set) but there is no external crossover box, it is an inline crossover and the set costs only Rs.4990/-

This is the full detail. Happy?

Here.... this will sort you out for the box.

As far as amplifier, I recommend a nice powerful monoblock. There are a few options available.

revtech, you'll need to plug in those figures into a subwoofer box calculator. Google it. You'll get a lot of results.

Revtech, I have not had the time to boxplot these numbers but gut feel tells me a 1.5 cu. ft. sealed box would be a place to start. The Qts is already 0.6 and in a 40 liter box (1.5 cu ft = 40 liters) you will get a small hump which will sound nice in the car (it will compensate to some degree for road noise). I will try and make some more time when I am well.

Gurus,

My ICE setup in my alto LXi is given below. This setup is nearly a year old that is to say it is unfortunately a pre T-BHP setup.

> Headunit : Pioneer DEHP-5750MP
> Pioneer TS-G1011R 10-cm (4") dual cone speakers front dash
> Front stage : Kenwood KFC-ST30 Tweeter
> Rear Fill : Pioneer D690R 6X9 coaxial 2-Way Speakers(yellow cone)
> Amplifier : Sony XM-502 2channel amp
> Wiring : By some company called Pyle audio(any info on this brand?)

I mainly listen to Trance, Hip-hop, R&B, rock.

Based on this i would like to know the ideal settings for the amp and HU settings to get the best output. How do i tune the amp and HU? Currently I've let my ears decide.

Currently it does sound ok but would like to get your feedback on this. I know it will be difficult advising without actually listening to the setup but i though why not give it a shot.

Amp is set to 0.7V input level and is connected to the rear Pio 690R's. There is no sound distortion till volume level 25 on the HU.

The HU settings are as follows with EQ-EX enabled:
Fader:0
EQ-LOW: +3 (varies from +6 to -6)
EQ-Mid: +4 (varies from +6 to -6)
EQ-High: +3 (varies from +6 to -6)
Bass: +3 (varies from +6 to -6)
Treble: +3 (+6 to -6)
Loud: MID (low, mid, high, off)
Sub W: OFF
HPF: OFF

frequency settings:
Low: 80Hz (40,80,100,160Hz)
Mid: 1KHz (200,500,1K,2KHz)
High: 10K (3k,8k,10k,12kHz)
all set to Q1W (2N,1N,1W,2W) for Q-factor settings.
Bass frequency: 100Hz (40,63,100,160Hz)
Treble frequency: 6KHz (2K,4k,6k,10KHz)

I have done a lot of fine tuning to get to this point but still thought the best was to get some experts opinions.

I have heard not good stories about the sony 502 amp as well as the pio rears but am trying to get the best with what i have.

Are the 502 amp and pio yellow cone speakers really that bad? What exactly is the drawback they have?

How is the wiring by a brand called Pyle audio?

Rev,

Go for sealed box, it will sound better.
You should have to go for Monoblock amp from Pioneer Or JBL.

Mugen.
