@harmon. JBL 75.4 will be good for you. Bridge 2 channels for the Sub and use the other 2 channels for compos. Alpine will be more expensive and not much better these days for the price. You can try LISTENING to some before finalising. That's the most sensible thing to do in audio. Or ask NavinJi.
Ok JBL it is then. But any thoughts on Kicker or Rockford amps?

Again, Rule of the thumb is to give it a SUNO!
I'm not very fond of these 2 brands now a days as I've not seen any of them in SQ setups. I've seen them in SPL setups where the tonal quality is hard to find. But both are very good in producing enough thump and will perform great for SPL.

im helping my friend to get a decent ICE installed. this is for his accent viva.
so far i have thought of getting pioneer 8850HU, JBL GTO607 components for the front and GTO937 coax for the rear.

i needed help for the amp. the choice is between JBL CS60.4, Sony XM 554ZR, sony XM504Z, pioneer GM6200.

he doesnt want to install a sub yet. any recommendations with regard to the speakers choice and amp.

JBL 60.4 is better both in terms of pricing and quality of sound.

Okey Dokey. I thought that it (SUNO) was some short form or acronym or something. Duh!

oki looks like the amp will be jbl or pioneer no sony then i guess.

for the rear speakers i had decided on the GTO937 but for these i would need modifications to fit into the viva rear shelf. is it advisable to go for 6" speakers like the alpine SPS170A.

also for the front components i got a PM suggesting the boston FS60 or balupunkt VC165. i couldnt find these models on the net. i have heard the boston compos and they sounded pretty good.

I will highly recommend the Pioneer amps. I have the GM6100F in my car with JBL 936 and 426 speakers. It is very good.
