ok, mclaren i have still a few worries.

1. those coax drivers may have polarised caps. I would change them to non polar ones from DEC or CTR.
2. the 10" woofer might modualte the cone of the coax. I would isolate the coax cone from the 10".
3. the box of the 10" woofer should be made using non parallel surfaces.
4. I would use resin bonded fiberglass to stiffen the rear parcel tray. resin bonded fiberglass does not add much weight.

BTW I have heard about JB and autopsyche in Mumbai and that is why their work on the Sonata did not surpise me. I expect very high standards from guys like these 2.

All in all a very nice setup McL... I wish I could hear it... That 10" really hits na... And while good equipment is necessary, its all in the tuning, as you well know now.

And McL... thanks for all your help. There is no way I can put this into words...

These are the specs of the
Alpine MRP F240 4/3/2 Channel V-Power Amplifier

• 100Watts x 2 RMS (Bridged 14.4V - 4Ohm)
• 50Watts x 4 RMS (14.4V - 2Ohm)
• 40Watts x 4 RMS (14.4V - 4Ohm)
• RCA/Speaker Input
• HP/LP Crossover
• Bass EQ

and

Alpine MRP F320 5/4/3Channel
• Max Power- 75W x4 +180W, 180W x2+180W
• Bass Boost

I am thinking of getting one of these two amps in the near future. I was wondering if 50W would be enough. I understand that more power is always better but the cost difference is about Rs. 3000 betweent the two.

Also, has anyone listened to the new Sony SD series amps?

Vivek I used the 340. I intend to get teh 450 and then run the front and rear speaker in bridged mode. between the 340 and 450 i'd have 8+1 channels. bridged they'd be 4+1. so you can get the 240 for now and when you need more power get another 240 and bridge both.
