Thanks dkaile! I've been looking for a proper alternative too all this while. Over a few years, tried and tested and found out the hard way that many alternatives available in our market are not really what I wanted.

I will soon come up with the review of my latest possession. Have done thorough homework before getting this one unlike other HUs. So hopefully it should be the last time I need to upgrade the HU.

Final HU upgrade is here - Dynavin N6-VW

From the time I heard that my HU has reached our shores, I've been trying to gather some patience. Thanks to Sugesh, Vagtune (Official Distributor for Dynavin in India), he din't wait for me to drive down to Cochin and sent it across to my place. The delivery truck was late and hence got it in my hands only by evening.

The wait is finally over!

Ready for the swap. Audiosources DNS 810 ---> Dynavin N6-VW

I just got done with the DIY install. It's plug and play. Just had to hook up the RCAs for the back up cam and sub woofers additionally. Plus the wiring for the hands free mic in the OE mic position which is slightly more time taking than the rest of the job.

Will be putting up my initial review with many more pics and details. Since I got the unit late, had time for clicking a few snaps only today. This is just a preview. More coming up soon...

Finally! I know that the resolution is very good, but how is the touch sensitivity? And post a video of the UI, hope its not glitchy.. And is a 'smooth operator'. Good luck with it

Touch sensitivity is good. It is quite a 'smooth operator'

Have put up detailed initial review in a separate thread dedicated to Dynavin N6-VW. There is a video in the review showing the smooth operation of the touch screen. Will post a link in this thread as soon as the review is shifted out from the assembly line. Thanks Adi!

The system looks fantastic!! Buy why is it still showing a VW Scirocco in the PDC and OBC screens? Is there an option to select the car like in original RCD 510? Even my Octy is able to show the fuel level in litres but I will need to activate it via VCDS, pretty sure its possible for the Yeti's cluster too. Great upgrade and the most interesting mod thread to watch! Cheers - Adi.

Thanks Adi! The car in the pics is MK7 Golf. Sadly there is no option to select the car right now. But will definitely put a request to Dynavin to include this change in their future firmware updates.

Like the image below, Audiosources DNS 810 had many more OBD functions displayed. Even the new Octavia HU and Kenwood HUs have these. This is again a firmware feature. Dynavin has just launched N6 platform. So with feedback from their customers, I hope they add these features that have been missed out.

I'm not sure about getting the fuel quantity on the cluster. I know these are displayed in the HU screen but never tried to get it in the cluster, as in, MFD. Now I'm wondering if that is possible.

Like so, this is actually in the colour maxidot of the European Octy 3, but I read it somewhere that its possible in the normal Maxidot cluster as well, both new and old gen.

It's after the Dynavin install I realized that Yeti also has an external OE amp. It is not built into the RCD 510 Bolero HU. In Dynavin, I have the option to switch between Dynavin's built in amp. and the OE amp.

Now I understand why Audiosources HU din't sound so clean. I always had to keep the loudness feature OFF and also tweak the EQ to get clean sound. I think it is feeding the OE amp. at speaker level output and there is no option to turn it OFF from within the Audiosources HU. Obviously the sound cannot be clean when you feed an amp. with such high level outputs.

Did you also needed to change the faceplate on your yeti to accomodate the new system. Had a word with sugesh today and he said i will have to change to columbus face plate as it won't fit in bolero (i couldn't understand the details).

You need to change the radio trim. Here is the link to the item: http://www.skodaparts.com/product/ye...010-2013-50319

I had changed the trim long back when I changed from stock Bolero radio to Philadelphia 835. After that, Audiosources HU also required the same trim and now Dynavin too.

Thanks for quick response. I am still undecided. I had earlier installed dension bluetooth and ipod kit which is all i needed. But your review got me thinking to go for extra features which dynavin has to offer along with improved sound quality. I am not planning to add any subwoofer at this point. Do you think the improvement will be drastic even if i don't change speaker config?

Apparently they are running a 10% discount applicable for today only.

No probs abbey! Well, EQ, Loudness and Dynabass settings are exclusive to the built in Dynavin amp. The bass - Mid - Treble controls are common for the OE amp (just like in RCD 510 Bolero radio) as well as Dynavin amp. So if you turn off the EQ, loudness and Dynabass both OE and Dynavin sounds same. You can switch between both amps and compare the difference and there is no noticeable difference. But once you start using the other 3 settings, then you can tailor it to your listening preference and makes a lot of improvement over the OE sound.

The speakers that come with the car might prove sufficient for most users. I would suggest trying out the HU with stock speakers before you decide to upgrade your speakers.

Thanks. I just made the purchase. The faceplate is not available as of now, so i will have to wait anyway for the install.

Apart from this i was also interested in bi-xenon, but the cost is 1.5 lac and i am not ready to spend that much for headlight upgrade as of now.
