Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

I remember how Mahindra messed up Renault Logan with it's Verito. I hope same doesn't happen to XUV 400. They are not utilizing the option to properly design an existing platform. I find the use of bronze elements, too flashy for a car.

The All-Electric XUV400 has just set the record of the maximum distance covered by an EV in sub-zero temperature in a single day.

Quote:

The drive started from Kyelang, Lahaul Spiti, Himachal Pradesh and covered a distance of 751 kms in 24 hours.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

Just saw this image on Twitter posted by some Mahindra executive. Is production started for XUV400? One good change I am seeing in this photo compared to earlier is, the copper accents on the front bumper seem to be much darker and less gaudy.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

You can now test drive the all-electric Mahindra XUV400

The Mahindra XUV400 was unveiled in September last year. While the carmaker is yet to announce the official pricing, dealerships have started offering test drives to customers.

Mahindra’s latest pure electric SUV is based on the XUV300. It uses a 39.4 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor producing 148 BHP and 310 Nm.

The carmaker claims a range of 456 km (MIDC cycle). The battery supports fast charging and can be charged from 0-80% in 50 mins using a DC fast charger.

Rumours suggest that the XUV400 will be offered in three variants – Base, EP and EL. The SUV comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system offering more than 60 connected car features. The car also offers smart watch connectivity and supports OTA updates.

Prices for the XUV400 EV are likely to be announced soon. Deliveries will commence in February 2023.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

Recently travelled in a friends XUV300, felt like a good car, so 400 is a worth considering. M&M pulled a fast one on TATA now. It's good to see real value cars in the affordable segment. Only the charging points need to be catchup now.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

As per Autocar India, XUV prices are available! I am wondering why such a low-key price reveal. It also says that this holds good only for the first 5K bookings.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

Decent pricing in my opinion. They tried to cover both Nexon Prime and Max models with Single vehicle. The base variant has bigger battery than Nexon prime while EL variant has more safety features like 6 airbags. It’s also a bigger vehicle with more interior space. Personally, I will take XUV400 over Nexon prime or Max.

Only high end variant (EL) deliveries will start from March while EC variant deliveries to start around Diwali.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

The pricing is benchmarked to Nexon Prime and Max EV. With the quirky styling and dated interiors, this may not be an easy sell. Hope they equip it with 6 airbags as standard as a differentiator.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 EV Review

Pretty interesting pricing by Mahindra.

1. The EC variant goes head-on against the Nexon EV base variant with a higher ranger and better feature set I guess.

2. For buyers looking for a second car, the 34.5 kWh battery with 3.3 kW charger is a no-brainer. Apart from the price, given the smaller battery, overnight charging is sufficient. No need to approach EB for load increase given that most houses have 3-5 kW of load sanctioned. The higher load also comes with higher per-month fixed charges.

3. I hope the car is free of niggles. This seems like a pretty VFM offering from Mahindra
