In all cases, the moon would not be very clear. Especially if one cropped and magnified the image. I therefore gave up, and placed my camera on the roof of my car and took this 10 second exposure.

While going for moon shots, always use "Spot Metering" and meter one of those craters om moon surface, as any other technique like averaging or evaluative metering will give a washed out image, at least for me :) Attaching a moon shot from my Sigma 70-300 (hand held), not super moon though. We were having a very cloudy sky on the Super Moon day.

Image Details:
Body - Canon EOS 550D
Lens - Sigma 70-300 APO DG
Focal Length - 300mm
Aperture - f/5.6
Metering - Spot
ISO - 125
Exposure - 1/160

@ robimahanta - Nice shot of MCG.
Another one from my side, Sambar Deer , from our recent trip to Sariska national park.

Some pics from recent trip to San Francisco. Not the best weather to click pics, but still gave it a shot.
Suggestion for improvement welcome.

Thanks for the tips bhp_maniac. And that photo is lovely too. My contention is that no matter what one does, the photograph will never show up perfect details as the image is magnified. I use spot metering, though I am yet to get a tripod. :p

In any case, I see the moon mostly as ornamentation and feel that there are others more worthy of me take those lovely detailed shots. Though technically speaking, the technique of getting there is certainly intriguing. Which is why, once again, thank you for your tips.

2nd image is beautiful, like the composition and colors.

Another one from my side .... downtown Montreal.

oops..... earlier the picture was not uploaded properly. Hence reposting it. stupid:

Very nice colors on the first one and you caught the rain well. Looks slightly tilted but the more I looked at it, the more it was likable the way it is!

The first photography is absolutely lovely. But what is with your screen name? :D

A picture from the Crib we setup at home this christmas!

I hope you folks like it :)

@Anachronix, DoF is very good and there is a lovely warm feeling to the photgraph, but the right low foreground is a bit distracting.

@ aburagohain - Thanks bro. Am still at the learning stage. kind of forgetting many parameters while taking the picture of something amazing because of excitement. :)

@ typeOnegative - Thanks a ton bro. WISCHVUANAUDH is the expanded version of viswanath. Overkill ? :Frustrati

A few more of my clicks. :)

@vishwanath: Phew!
@clevermax. Nice but for the fact that there is a slight flaring over the rocks, and that it is not warm enough. :p

P.S. How does one get rid of flares without photoshopping?

@ typeOnegative - You can use polarized lens filter to take off those lens flares. Otherwise, if your camera is having a 'Live-View' function, to an extend you can reduce the glares by changing the camera angle.. (that works only if you can see the screen under bright lighting)

I am not really sure if there are any softwares that can take away the lens glare except for PS..
