Re: Amazon Prime Video in India!

I was able to watch GT ep 5 today on Amazon.in. it's played without any buffering. Connected my laptop display using HDMI to TV and it was a very good experience to see on big screen.

I could test download only the "Amazon Original Series"

And not all titles. Other titles can be viewed online

Re: Amazon Prime Video in India!

Hi Guys,

I am having some issues and I am not able to view the Grand Tour episodes.
So I am a Prime member and it shows when I open Amazon.in. When I click the Prime Video section or primevideo.com, it takes me to Amazon.com and there it asks me for user name and password. When I enter mine, it does not accept it. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Rachit

Thankfully was able to sort out the issue.
All it needed was a password reset.

Can't wait to watch the episodes now..

Censored...!
They cut an entire episode of GT to half (30 minutes) there was beef involved.

A lot of other content is also censored. Amazon calls it "Voluntary censorship". Right now the I&B ministry has said that they do not censor internet, but I guess somebody at Amazon decided to be Babuji certified.

Re: Amazon Prime Video in India!

Not sure if this was tried. I have an amazon fire tv stick and on the prime video, when I select to play a video, I see the following options as shown in the screenshot, I select "watch on fire tv stick" and it plays in full resolution with zero bufferring, brilliant quality.

Re: Amazon Prime Video in India!

I signed up just a few days back and watched an episode of Grand Tour. I wasnt impressed with the quality to be honest, and I have a fiber connection. I cant imagine how it would look on a TV. I am not saying it was all though out the show but I saw the image kinda pixelating quite a few times.
I will blame it on my connection this one time. But if this is what is to be expected via a 75 Mbps line then I may not signup.

PS: Wasnt impressed with the show either.

Re: Amazon Prime Video in India!

I also have availed the Prime subscription as soon as it was launched in India.

Now I watch the shows and movies on my IPad Air-2 with my Airplay Mirroring onto my Apple TV. This is really amazing and the experience is also good.

The movie SULTAN was my first experience and it was awesome (mind you all - Hindi is not my mother tongue)! The show / movie trivia displaying on the IPad while the show / movie is playing on the TV is a whole new experience for me and I love it!

What is the geographical restriction? Why does it show when I try to play a channel? Am I missing something? Kindly assist in resolving the problem.

You cannot download offline and watch? I see it as an option on rbp's screenshot. Am on a much slower 16-20 MBps connection where I occasionally see some buffering issues. So its surprising to see it on a 75 MBps connection.

As such Amazon Prime does not have much show choices. Just Man in the High Castle and Grand Tour worth watching at the moment.

This is one big reason to avoid completely. So Hotstar can stream GoT uncensored, but Amazon wants to voluntarily censor?!

I don't think channels are supported outside US yet. EDIT: Available in UK too. Only Amazon originals elsewhere.

I have got to try that. It was my first time using Amazon-India.
I used to binge watch shows (back in the day), but if I have to download them and watch them later that's a big Will I/Wont I for me.

I have a Roku. However, I am unable to download the amazon app from Roku channel store. On Roku, it doesn't show and from web channel store it says the channel can't be downloaded from India.

Re: Amazon Prime Video in India!

At last, thanks to Amazon Prime, I got to know who Red John is in the Mentalist series (Season 6 Episode 8), which I have been waiting for more than a year for some TV channel to broadcast

More than the movies section, the series section is more interesting! Hope more content get added in the future.

@rbp,

Good to know that you have an Amazon fire TV stick.

Couple of quick queries.
1.Is the Fire stick available in India ?
Whatever listing I see online show as would be shipped from the US.

2.Does it work well with the Amazon.in Prime video account ?
(I mean without any workaround hacks )
