kindly read the last few pages or so and you'll get the answer. No pointing in starting the topic all over again.

For similar LCD specs, which is a better option: LCD TV or LCD monitor + TV tuner?

Note: The latter option is cheaper by almost 10K.

I think I have to settle for a LG LCD.

It's 26LG30R and it's costing me Rs. 29000. And my old 29 inch Samsung is going for Rs 5000.

Good deal ?

I won't - you didn't specify that you took fees when I consulted you. You treat me because you conned me.

These days dealers everywhere are quoting 5K as standard for any 29 CRT tv with remote. I got the same offer while buying my LCD. But, then i found a bakra to whom i sold for 8.5K

Gautam, I would personally recommend going for the 32 inch model. Thats the least you should look at when starting with LCDs, more so, if going for a wall mount. I have seen the smaller models and they look like glorified computer monitors - not too good for movies and sports. Just my opinion!

hey..
i bought a toshiba - REGZA series 32" LCD 2 months back around 44k here in Delhi.
Its quite good. I was looking for the BRAVIA (they both cost the same).
They were displayed side by side and i checked the tuning colour tone according to my preference and i liked the REGZA better.

Just my opinion.
you should check it out.

regards,

Jaxy

NC, hope you realize that from the 29" 4:3 screen you are reducing it to about 21" equivalent screen (that's what 26" wide screen 16:9 ratio is equal to)!!!

This transaction would mean, smaller picture size, and poorer picture quality, and that also at a net additional cost of 24k, you should have a strong reason to do so...

I second this opinion. The least size that an LCD will look good for any sources is the 32". I personally prefer the bigger the better ( well, depending on the budget) and i waited till i could afford a 40". After 7 months of usage, even the 40" is looking small

I wouldn't have gone for anything smaller or would have waited till the pocket allows.

All you gadget freaks here #$%^&* . Made me buy a 32 inch when I was looking for 26 inch.

Finally I did it !! Yes !

Booked a 32 inch LG - 32LB9R today from Kohinoor in Vashi - cost me 38500.

It was a tough choice between the Panasonic LE75 and LG 9R - but the LG won purely on it's crispness and sharpness and clarity of picture.

The Panasonic was warmer and had better color rendition but for me the LG was just that bit better.

btw - the Panasonic is going for 35000 if any of you are interested.
