Its a good cam but keep in mind its only 36mm at its widest. You are better off with Panasonic Ultra Zooms.

Also take a look at the Nikon P80, Olympus SP570UZ, Fuji S8100FS

I wont recommend Nikon p80. it has got a very bad review on almost everything.

I have a canon S5 IS and its a very decent camera for every use except that focussing in low light conditions is not that great, as well that the noise is high at higher ISOs.

But it is still better than Nikon p80 (Bad reviews overall) or Sony H50 (30X Zoom- digital+optical, No Swivel Screen, only vertical fold). Panasonic FZ 28 is good to recommend but lack of swivel screen and some functions as in Canon S5 with 48X zoom, color swap, color accent, full manual control etc. again makes you think again.

hey samrat25. Gr8 to know that u have FZ 28. It is indeed a very good camera. If it had a swivel screen, I would have bought it immediately. Anyways can you show me some pics you took straight out of your cam without any enhancement or photoshopping...

Damn the price of the 40D is just 3k more than what I paid for mine and that was body only and in grey. Insanely good prices. Are there similar offers on lenses too?

reviews online are also not too bad.

Good camera but not much over the FZ18. By the way, Grey market I presume, what was the price you picked it up at?

Why don't you try the Canon Powershot sx10is or the sx1is , they are supposed to be the successor to the s5is

Canon Powershot SX10 IS digital camera specifications: Digital Photography Review

Canon Powershot SX1 IS digital camera specifications: Digital Photography Review

I think they are available on amazon.com

Guys, I seem to have lost my Canon EOS Software CD while shifting homes. Can anyone give me a link where to download from (I tried a few sites but to no avail)? Or can I borrow the CD from anyone for a day?
