E71 is a class apart but keys is an issue so check before buying.

After the n82 keys I dont think the e71 will be anything to worry about for aZa. n82 keypad is a huuuuge letdown (I knew this before I bought it).

Hey, when was the E71 launched? And what is the current price? Planning to upgrade from my N73.

It costs 20k (with B&W) Jay.

You should be happy paji. Have ya checked new sony phones keypad. Specially the ones that just got launched and the ones coming in near future. They r a huge let down.

And another big let down is most new sony phones specially the Walkman series doesn't have flash and infrared (i know its put dated but still comes handy when i need to access TV with phone) pfft!

Hey, howz N82i. This and few other chinese and korean mobiles was advertised in the indiatimes shopping website and has come in TOI newspaper. They are giving 6 months warranty. Is it worth buying thse type of Chinese and Korean models? They come in a very cheap rates of Rs.6000 max. Do anybody has bought these phones?

From features point of view, these phones are excellent.

And with a 4000 Rs Blutooth GPS receiver it becomes a complete package as compared to N - Series phones. These phones run most of softwares for Windows based phones.

Few things these phones lack:

1. WiFi
2. Quad Band / Tri Band

One thing, these phones would not have been tested in unusual conditions. So battery can be dangerous in unusual conditions. (e.g. its shorted by rains).

Nokia/ S.E. / Motorola test to ensure that even if phone goes kaput / shorts it wont harm the user in most situations.

I must add, have seen hordes of junta in KL/Malaysia use such phones happily. (observation not asked them their experiences). In 6k you get dual sim, Win Mo, TV out, surround speakers and kuch kuch. Madness if you ask me :)

/and since i cant read chinese cant confirm that the chinese phone maal here is the ditto shame one there, but CECT for one was :)

How is the camera/sound quality in e71, users? I heard it is really a let down, is that true? Was reading some of the reviews in GSMArena and read that. Please advice. Between the N82 and e71 is the N82 email friendly? Apart from the 5Mp Xenon camera how better is the N82 against the e71

I have some prob with the N82. At times when I answer the call, the camera automatically starts and goes to standby mode. :(

hi fountain. I used to have a similar problem with my n95, but was solved once i reformatted the memory card. dont ask me why that worked, but i was getting keypresses without doing anything, so on someones advice i just reformatted the memory card and it was fine.

Does push-mail with Exchange server require 'continuous' GPRS connectivity to work? I got the mail configured on my phone and now observe GPRS is always connected. Even if I manually disconnect, it re-connects in no time. Just wanted to know if this is normal.
TIA.

I have a similar query for Symbian OS. If I get Blackberry service activated on a Symbian phone (e.g. Nokia E71), does that mean EGPRS would be always on? How much are the charges for this service?

There was a similar problem on my (and my friend's) Nokia E50. Occasionally, an incoming call would directly go to speakerphone/loudspeaker mode. No key presses would help and neither would the phone get switched off by the power button. The only way out was to remove the battery and force switch off the phone.

I rectified the problem by upgrading the firmware.
