Guys any idea about the next N82 firmware upgrade? Can we expect Nokia to provide us with FP2? The FP2 is pretty good beacuse even with a 900 mah battery the Nokia 6220 trumps the N82 with better battery life. I just hope and pray Nokia provides us with FP2 for N82.

The last update was released on 08, April 2008. Which one do you have?
Nokia N82 software version 20.0.062/20.1.062 released - 8 April 2008

This software version includes Flash Lite 3 support (enabling users to watch Flash video web sites such as YouTube) and Widget support. The release also includes camera exposure improvements and improvements to Bluetooth headset interoperability.

does the E71 support VoIP???
cheers

I think the all E series support VOIP. I am pretty sure E71 should be supporting it, as it is on S60 9.2 FP2

Yes red that would be highly appreciated. I have a *slightly* negative comment about the small keypad, maybe because I used E61i earlier and I was comparing to it. However, I did not have much time to play with E71 so your review would be welcome.

Any review of E66 as well?

i just went out and bought myself a E71. :)
initial impressions are good, doesn't look very sluggish.
lets see how it turns out..
cheers

How is the google maps works on this SE G502 model?

Anybody has bought/used the SE G700 or SE G900?

Hi Mav & Nishanth,

To be honest i was highly debating between the N82 and the E71 before i went ahead and bought the E71, and im more than happy with my choice. I was wondering how business oriented the N82 was compared to the E71 more than how multimedia oriented the E71 was compared to the N82? :D

The Pros
The E71 is blazing fast whether you browse through menus, send messages, Browse the net, install & use applications, It feels ages ahead. Period.
It has got a crazy battery life, came for 2 days on the first charge! With moderate use it comes for about 3 days (friends claim) but i would say 2 complete days is good enough for me. Only calls and texting it "will" definetly last longer.
Its very easy to use not at all complicated as some PDA's where to send a file through Bluetooth it gets cumbersome.
Nice Themes/ appareance
The keypad is not at all complicated, once u get used to it you can type faster using predictive text. @Nishanth - Initially it might be little hard but the buttons dont come in each others way and it would welcome you to the world of single hand texting!
I got Nokia Maps preinstalled with the 2Gb Memory card (Micro SD) and free Browsing for 3 months, and the Gps speed is amazing, of course you need mobile office for faster rendering (I use a company airtel post paid) so im yet to get it activated.
Sports Tracker software is amazing with satellite mapping.
T-BHP Is amzing to Browse with the "basic wap connection" , Its faster than my Office Pc with internet connection clap:

The Cons
Camera IS PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who wants to buy this phone thinking 3.2 Mega Pixel with led flash bla blah, please go for the N82.
For some reason i feel the voice is not "all that" loud when i make a call. Loudspeaker is good. Or its hightime to get my ears checked,
Other E71 users please confirm on this.

With my E61i, I faced the same problem. The voice during call was not loud enough and after a point, I started thinking I'm going deaf :Frustrati
However, when I changed to E51, I suddenly became younger and there was no threat to my hearing abilities at all!

What a friend told me that since E61i/71 is a borad phone, with the speaker in the center, it takes a few weeks before you get used to positioning the speaker exactly at your ear. With a normal phone, it comes naturally and hence voice is loud and clear.

Nice review redrage!! have you tried using emails on this ?

Guys any idea when is omnia coming to india ?

Really good review, Redrage!

Adding to aZa's question, if you're using email on this, does the client display HTML email, or is it still plain text, with HTML content shown as an attachment that you have to click to open in the browser? I'm asking because the phone runs on FP2. Various websites say different things, so I wanted to make sure.

@Hydra :- I am presntly using the normal Airtel Live connection, I have not configured any particular email account, The HTML content is displayed directly as in normal PC browsing ,

Im sorry if i havent been able to give clarity, as i use the basic gmail, yahoo and they seem to be working ok. But i can add if you can get an authorisation from your company to provide the VPN certificate you can access company mailsthrough the email client.

People with N82.... hows the battery life? Mine barely lasts a single day these days and that too without heavy usage. I am thinking there is some process running in the background which is consuming all the battery.... is there any process veiwer application that can tell me about the background processes running on my phone and lets me kill the unwanted one's.

Is anyone here facing a problem with N95 8gb slider? I mean the slider is slightly loose only after 2 months of simple usage. anyone faced the same?
