I would suggest Nokia Lumia for your wife beacause of the ease of use and windows 7 is just so user friendly. Especially for women its the best. Android is for the geeks and requires much learning. Also windows looks more classy

My wife has never used a touchscreen phone and hence UI and ease of use is paramount. The app store is not a priority.I'm tending towards NOT buying an xperia as I already have an xperia arc s and having a different OS would give me a new toy to play with .
Try lumia 710. But id suggest getting the samsung Omnia W for the same price as its better value and has super AMOLED screen which looks gorgeous indoors and great visibility outdoors. Stay away from HTC Radar
Happy shopping! !

Well that is the MRP and you can get it for around 35,000 on shop price. If you demand further i guess you can get it for as cheap as 34,500.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I want a phone that has good battery life, it should last a day as I do lot of web browsing, email, apps etc is not that important to me. Wifi speed should be fast. Screen size should be atleast 3.2 inches. Processor speed also should be atleast 800 MHz or so as according to me it is fast enough for my purposes. Hope this helps.

Go for the Xperia Neo V. 1 GHz processor with ICS and a good cam to boot. Should be the best bang for your buck! Keep us posted on what you finally do end up with. I saw a link to a Xperia Neo V for 13.8k. I am not too sure whether it comes with Manufacturer warranty though. Check it out

Looks quite tempting but I think it is dealer warranty as this model is for 17k on flipkart. Blackberry is availablefor 16.5k on flipkart.

Neo V is available for 16.5k on buytheprice.com. Never go for a phone with dealer warranty.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Guys I am looking for a new phone. I have zeroed in on the HTC Explorer. I really like the looks. Please help me choose a budget phone. Here are my requirements:

1) Has to have a loud ringer. I have been using a N5230 and my sound quality experience has been

2) Has to have a very good battery. N5230 has given up on me. Maybe due to the heavy usage.

3) It should vibrate hard enough to catch my attention when I am walking and the phone is in my trouser pocket.

I know the needs are basic and you may recommend an entry level phone
but I have chosen the HTC explorer. I found it quite nice. Never used a HTC though. AND I would like to use it for a very long time . Please advice.

Htc Explorer is nice but if you can stretch your budget then Sony Live with walkman is a very good phone. It has got a very loud speaker.

I have had the Sony Ericsson K810 once. It gave me such a hard time that I vowed never to buy expensive phones and on top of that pathetic A.S.S. So no more SE.

+1. Instead of Explorer consider Optimus Net. However, LWW is significantly better than both, of course. Battery life is poor though. Net tops on this parameter.

Can also consider Desire S. Much better build quality; though I'm not sure how the cam compares - Neo V's cam will probably be bit better. Neo V's build quality is on the poorer side... esp. the flimsy flaps on top, which seem ready to break off shortly; and then the phone's gonna look really bad. Check it out yourself, before you buy.
