for gaming the cpu is not a major thing...a good display card is required....your 1.6 is fine processor...but these normal notebook cannot handle heavy games like quake 4, oblivin.....

Very true. The 1.6 is a pretty good processor, good enough for the games you want to play. Upgrading the AGP/PCI Express card will help in playing games. those on board graphics suck big time for intense gaming.

Google my friend is the best way to learn internet. JOkes apart airport extreme is a router built by apple. Its more compatible than the normal netgear/linsys routers and also supports more users.

Well can someone tell me the difference between these laptop processors:

AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile Technology MK-36 and
AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual Core Mobile Technology TL-50

Also is Intel® Pentium® dual core processor T2060 (Not Core 2 Duo that's in different league) better than 64 Mobile Technology MK-36 and 64 X2 Dual Core Mobile Technology TL-50 ?

X2 is dual core whereas the other one is a single core.

the intel is a little better than the turion but in a laptop a little faster will not gonna make a big differnce....

Well that i know but on performance front. Is M6 better or Dual Core and Dual Core have like 1 MB L2 cache and X2 T52 have 512+512KB L2 Cache so which is these regards. X2 will outperform Dual Core but its cache is 512 ?

And what does 512 + 512 Cache means ? Does it means it got 1 MB cache 512 in each core ?

MK36 is a single-core processor. It consumes 31watts running at 2.0 ghz. L2 cache is 512kb. l1 is 128kb (64+64)

X2 Tl50 is a dual-core processor. Meaning it has two processing cores on one die. Even TL50 consumes 31watts. Its clocked at 1.6ghz and has 2x256kb l2 cache.

intel t2060 is a first gen dual-core cpu. Intel released first gen dual-cores to enter dual-cores before amd. they can be termed as half-realized core2duo's.
runs on 65nm process and has 1mb of l2cache. It is clocked at 1.6ghz. Has a fsb of 533mhz. It can be called a dual-core celeron cpu.

Both have Integrated memory controllers which intel is installing in the successor to Core2DUo Yonah cpu's.

amd uses power now while intel uses speedstep (similar)
amd is based on 90nm manufacturing process while intel is 65nm (intel wins)
amd's are 64-bit while only core2duo's are 64-bit in mobile cpu's

TL50 is better than MK36 is better than T2060.

Thnx ppl.

So the bottom line is one can go for AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual Core Mobile Technology TL-50 or TL-52 or higher if budget does not permits Core Duo processor.

turion X2 is the best alternative if Core2Duo's are out of reach. Remember though that turions x2's can never match core2duo's performance or core duo's for that matter. Its just the t2060 is crippled that amd takes the cake.

turion x2 is good otherwise for everyday computing.

best of luck.
