Any opinion??
This is the speaker set that I have at home. This, along with the Denon 1910 receiver cost me 72k. This was in Pro FX Bangalore. This is one of the better speakers available in the market at that price range. I'm very happy with it.

However, I'd suggest you do an audition before you jump in.

nairrk - apologies, finally got around to look at that ebay link only now.

The speakers look ok to me. But:-

Have a look at the sub woofer specifications. Frequency response range is 38 Hz - 120 Hz. AFAIK, Human audible range starts from 20Hz. Hope somebody else will certify this as "adequate".

This is adequate. It require HUGE instruments to generate sound at 20 Hz (wavelength is 20 meters for 20 hz). Organs that generate 20 Hz sound are big enough to match 2 - 3 rooms.

Like any other sub, you wouLd need to adjust cutover/crossover frequency on AVR to tune it.

On the SKS HT 728, following are the specifications given in onkyo web:

Frequency:
Front : 55-50khz
centre: 60hz - 50 khz
surround: 80hz - 20khz
sub: 25Hz- 150hz

output
front 79.5db/w/m
centre 75db
surround 81db

Nominal impedance (front/centre/surr)- 6 ohm

Is it okay??

Going by the specifications, I think the Mission speaker package is better than the Onkyo one.

See first post on this link:-

Look for the second paragraph on speaker selection.

Yes, I have already read this thread.
Mission speakers will have to be purchased through ebay (I have purchased many items through ebay without any problme) hence little worried about getting the product by courier and if any damage or fault when installing means unnecessary exercise of contacting the seller and sending back the product etc(if at all the agree to exchange)..
whereas if buy such product from a dealer means we will not have much headache as some one from their end will come for installation and they take the responsibility.
this is the reason, I am slowly thiking toward the sks Ht 728 speakers which also has got 2 floor standing speakers which can be placed conveniently near the tv.?

Even though HTS 3100 is a very old model, but it is worth at this price.

Surelly much better than the other brands in this price segment.
