Just what I needed, thank you!! I don't know how it escaped my attention when I was searching for it. Ordered the "Dreamcatcher" color.

Re: Amazon Kindle

Is it possible to have multiple users accounts like in Windows?

For ex, if I share my Kindle with my wife can she have a separate user account with her books and preferences?

No. Kindle devices are meant to be personal devices. You can own multiple devices with the same account, but a device cannot have multiple accounts.

Try Amazon Household in the India site https://www.amazon.in/myh/households and let us know if it works.

Re: Amazon Kindle

Today I noticed a white line on the upper side of the screen (picture attached) Mine is relatively a new Kindle PW (10th Gen) bought in July 2021. It has been hardly used and kept packed in a cloth case without any item on top of it. Any fix for this issue?

Upgraded my 2015 Voyage with 3GB to the latest Paperwhite with 16GB RAM. The only reason why I upgraded was that I started noticing some software error in downloading files. It used to get stuck, between queuing and downloading. There was no wifi/network related error.

Then I looked up when I bought it, and was surprised it was 7 years old. Which device these days lasts 7 years when used everyday and everywhere... so I decided to retire the Voyage.

I had two choices, 2019 release Oasis and 2021 Paperwhite (11th gen). It became clear the cheaper Paperwhite is a better choice. Two days later I had it in my hand.

https://bookriot.com/kindle-oasis-vs-paperwhite/

It is bigger than the older Voyage, but not as big as the keyboard Kindle from 2010. The reading screen is 6.8 inches instead of 6 inches.

Re: Amazon Kindle

Guys. Any idea where I can buy a Kindle Paperwhite / Paperwhite Signature Edn. Has this been phased out? I can only find Oasis listed on Amazon India and I really would like to buy the PW model instead.

If not on Amazon, is there any other place where this can be purchased in India? Even Croma online does not seem to have this. What about overseas?

Thank you.

If anyone has any suggestions on where one can buy the very latest Paperwhite, that’d be great.

Thanks.

Re: Amazon Kindle

It's been 6-8 months that the The Kindle has been off the shelves in Amazon.in and in partner stores like Croma, Reliance etc. The spotty Amazon Pop-ups too were shut down. I don't know what Amazons plan is for Kindle in India.

But Amazon in other countries is not selling them but also hosting 2024 models.

Perhaps try the 2nd market for a Kindle. That's how I got mine.

Kindle is a fabulous product and if it is being discontinued, better to buy one while its still available in the US. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DDZJS3SB...kindl_ppw&th=1

My own Kindle paperwhite is nearing 9 years, so I might also buy and keep one in reserve.

Re: Amazon Kindle

My 5 year old 10th Gen Paperwhite has screen fade issues. The top and bottom of the screen is so faded that nothing is visible. Adjusting the brightness or switching to dark mode has not resolved the issue.

Contacted Amazon customer service - they have only two options for this problem (a) switch off and on i.e. full restart or (b) factory reset. Tried both. Neither works. So, they offered a discount of about 35% on a new unit!

The Kindle forum and other blogs have multiple users complaining of this issue, but no resolution.

Any ideas? Anyone faced similar issue and solved it?

PS - Could the magnetic flip cover be the culprit here? Or, battery issues?
