Xperia ZR with same HW specs would cost you about 26-27K. Do check that out.

It does not mention that it is a trial version anywhere. I have seen the settings and do not see anything specific there either. So, I assume its a regular/full-use version.

If there is some specific way to check, let me know. I can check & tell you.

Another point, how to navigate to the current GPS location in this app? :P The home location is severely offset (by like 200 feet). I was wondering if it has any option to reposition and check again. Google maps shows the location pretty well with a variance of ~50 feet.

Have anyone got Xperia Z Ultra?

Need an advice since stuck between Z and Ultra (overall which one is better leaving the size and processor).

Also, Z has 13 megapixel camera as compared to Ultra's 8 (this is where i'm held up). Will there be a difference in that?

Z ultra is a damn beautiful phone. I think, Z ultra has the better processor when compared to Z. Also, there is another model called Zl or something, which comes with same hardware specs as of Z Ultra, in a small package of 5 inch. I think, it was launched very recently.

In my opinion, Z ultra is very good in almost all aspects. It has everything that you need for the next 4+ years, 4g, LTE, etc, etc, However (I think)
- The life of sony mobiles might not last as long as you expect.
- I doubt sony batteries.
- Repairing is a bit expensive (My belief, not sure.)
- Warranty gets void, if your mobile seeps in any water. This is the most idiotic thing. They give a waterproof phone, however warranty gets void, if water seeps in. So, techinically, i have a waterproof phone, which cannot be tested by me.

If you are fine with all these. Do not think. Go and pick an Ultra. You will enjoy it.

Also, why dont you wait till 25th and have a look at Note 3, which comes in a smaller package with almost better specs and then decide?

Any particular reason you do not want to go for the Xperia Z1 which comes for about 42k with a 20 MP camera and all the latest hardware?

Seems to be a full-blown version. I installed the app, the add-on resources and maps for a few states I frequent. Also tried navigating home from work.

Seems to be working flawlessly thus far.

If camera is all you care about then the new Z1 is the best choice. Available for 43k at the Sony stores or for little less outside (for as less as 40416 on HS18 if you like to buy online).

I got mine last saturday and cannot put it down! The thing is a beauty. Yes the SW is bit raw at the moment (esp camera, which is not performing to potential) but I guess its a Software thing and in a couple of updates it should be able to outdo every other device out there (bar Nokia 1020). It has the hardware (1/2.3 inch sensor that is much bigger than any other smartphone camera out there expect 808 and 1020), quality G lens with wide f2.0 aperture, BIONZ processor from camera line etc.

I never compared it with Note3 in the first place.

Mohit mentioned S4 being 34K . On that I had mentioned you get same spec with ZR. May be I should have said "almost" similar hardware spec. By hardware I meant the quad core Krait and 2GB RAM which today under 30K are available only with Nexus-4 (I think its Cortex-A9 and not A15 which Krait is) and Xperia-ZR. (I dont know if newer with same specs have started coming in). Agreed ZR has only a 720p display and front VGA camera. But I think for its price point, its a very good value for money given the CPU and RAM configs. I think the difference between ZR and S4 mainly comes because of AMOLED. So if display is not the criteria, ZR to me seems much better a buy compared to S4.

Of course every one has his own views and decides accordingly.

It was a leaked apk, now blocked by BlackBerry and taken down by most of the sites.

We have to wait for official release now.
