Hmmm! I do not remember getting it enabled. How do we deactivate the same?

Please advice.

Check in your call settings for any forwarders. There should be a number present in the call forwarding in your handset. Else call your operator and ask them if you have any forwarding enabled.

No, I did not blame him, but the innumerable apps that are available for download in the market. Some are great and some are downright crappy. There was this nice word game i downloaded and as i play it, i get to see some ads with nude pics. Even the reviews did not help much.

I feel uninstalling these apps will not totally clean up the phone either.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

My Defy completes 11 months tomorrow, and my experience so far has been great. I am still on Froyo---the phone came with Eclair.

The only time my phone re-boots is when I use Latitude and google maps--but that is also rare.

So your birthday gift to the phone should be an ICS install

@headers baba - thanks! Can't see that option in my WIUI ROM manager. no time now. will see on weekend!

Sadly, no idea. I've shied away from it. But it is in serious shambles as compared to CM7.

So damn, i eat my words.

Make that a CM7/WIUI install

I think I use Euro Shanks CM7.2. 20120424 is important and also ensuring you have GB kernel..

There are 2 or 3 versions of CM 7.xx running around and I prefer the above build to the rest purely because of battery issues.

WIUI was the best in terms of look and feel, but CM7 rocks on speed!! Also lesser bloatware around..Also some ROM manager versions do not permit you to DL roms.. :(

One more suggestion is to run the V6 supercharger script using a script manager ourselves - There are so many tweak options and the behaviour of the mobile transforms. I suggest that you try the same.

[Script-U9RC8.2]Be A Super User! Use The -=V6 SuperCharger=- Lag, Redraw & RAM Fixer! - xda-developers

Cheers

Defy's hardware just won't be able to run full ICS builds smoothly. People have tried mating old hardware with newer OS versions for years, without complete success. God, there's even a ICS build for my 3 year old HTC Hero, but it's just such a pain... Only for die hard enthusiasts trying to get that last mile out of their dying hardware. My suggestion to a 'general' user would be to remain on older (read, more stable) builds for their 1~2 year old phones. ICS would require proper double core processors and 1 gb ram for full and proper functionality, or if it's a older version, it should be a proper Google phone (like the Nexus-S) which is configured minutely at many levels to run their builds.
