Please tell me what are the benefits of rooting? I am planning to root my android phone. Which software is best for rooting?

I'm an Android beginner, but I'd say, root your phone if when you find a need to do so. In itself, it has no value or benefit, but it allows you to do other stuff. When you find that other stuff, root!

Root when you feel the need for it. There is no fixed software for rooting all Android phones..it depends on which make and model you have.

Hi all,
I recently got fascinated with android application development so just thought of making app for recording average and other related data.

Main reason why i developed
1. I used to maintain an Excel for average record but to carry laptop or to remember every time when and how much i filled was difficult.
2. I up-scaled my tires so the average calculation needed adjustment as odometer reading is not true reading now.
3. I was thinking to maintain average of my multiple vehicles
4. I needed application to either take fuel price/liter or to take money that i payed.

What i have developed so far fulfills all above requirements.

What i am planning is
phase 1 will be just above application with basic features.
phase 2 will have below more features
1. Will take Data from OBD port directly. (Will use bluetooth OBD sensor).
2. Will also use GPS for recording where you filled gas.

I need some more input from everyone, let me know what you all require so that i can develop it.

i will upload the app on google play soon.

Excellent effort, congratulations! Looking forward to use the app.One small comment - "Average" is not a term recognized by everyone when it comes to measuring fuel efficiency. So if you use that keyword alone in the app, some people at least may not install it from market. Fuel economy or fuel efficiency seems to be the apt name. Also, it would be better to display the unit (km/l, miles per gallon etc) together with the numbers or on the top of that column.

I've been using aCar and most of these features are in there. However, you can make this more appealing to users by adding some unique features if you can think of it. User experience is a very important aspect. For example, users will not feel like using the app at all if the data entry part is made somewhat complex even though the statistics are excellent.

I have a feeling its the new Samsung Galaxy III thats going Live today. In some countries its going on sale around 1st Week May. Considering that Samsung has become agressive in Marketing its products in India, we may be getting the Galaxy III sooner than others.

Yes, its the unveiling of the S3. Now we have to wait and see whether it's an earthquake or phussss... lolz. HTC One has really changed the game for Samsung!

It surely gonna be a step up with their quadcore Exynos processor, looking at past Exynos processors have done better than the Tegra chipset in terms of benchmarks. Product design wise One x will be hard to beat as its using Polycarbonate body which does add a premium feel to it unlike Samsung using the plastic shell. It's the screen and processor comparo that's gonna matter the most and will be deciding factor between the two.
