re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

There is a surfeit (no Blizzard) of new models. By the time you make your mind up there is a pack of new toys on the block. So get one which serves you and forget the additional Gizmos. Also, where OS upgrades are concerned wait before you leap.

OT: HP are a bunch of morons. One of the most popular MFPs for SME/SoHo in their range is the HP 3050/3055/3390 etc series.

Till date - their scanning drivers written in 2007 - have not been patched and often do not work. I for one have dropped nasty emails to HP support once every year and the response is always to format the system!!

@Klub Class: That sounds like a lovely idea actually! Sounds good if you ask me - provided it is clean!

Have you seen the SAR rating on the DEFY? It is just within limits for US SAR standards.

Re: Android applications

I often see this comment in Android phone reviews, that one has smart dialing, the other one doesn't etc.

What is this smart dialing? Why can we just use an app to achieve the smart dialing?

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have a Samsung Galaxy S and I have been trying to configure my office mail ID. It is on Microsoft Exchange 2007 server (or 2003?, I am not too sure). It perenially gives me an error which says cannot open for connection or something similar. Tried accessing various forums and could not get any answer on how to resolve the issue.

Any one facing similiar issue here?

You may want to consult IT person of your Office as it will require exact server name to configure along with user pass (which you already have)

@Normally crazy - if your problem is not sorted out - visit the LG service center.

A friend's OptimusOne bricked after the software update and the svc center fellow said that its a common problem - the bloody software is buggy

Don't use it else u may brick it! Then too you'll have to visit svc center wonlee

Hi, its on Online Shopping - Buy Mobile Phones, Cameras, Laptops @ Lowest Price - Letsbuy.com (you should go in for COD option ). Please google for discount code. I am not sure of forum rules regarding posting it here.
Cheers

I also hear that the Optimus One is one that is locked up like Fort Knox and is one of the toughest to Root.

Sowmya here and a friend (who bought it under the Employee scheme) are both quite happy. The ONLY downside of the Defy is the locked bootloader (from a dependence on Motorola for Gingerbread upgrade perspective) and the high SAR ratings. Else even the net has mostly positive reviews. The performance is as good/better than Galaxy S as far the benchmarks are concerned.

You can check more over at xda-developers.com
