That's a shame. They should set expectations right at the time of ordering. Thanks for this information, atleast we are aware of this now.
Not to forget, Congrats on your new SGS2

Hmm... thats not great. But if you are getting it for a better price, it compensates. What was the price difference between what you paid HS18 and the next closest offer?

Now that i have decided to go ahead with an Android phone (Motorola Atrix 2 or HTC One V - Still undecided), I can't help but wonder if the Macbook is still a good idea. is it still the best laptop out there? Or it makes sense to go ahead with a Windows Laptop? I heard Google has Chromium laptops that work better with Android.
You can always install windows on macbook via bootcamp and enjoy both worlds at the same time. Obviously macbook is the best lappy out there rite now in most departments. Also i dont see any problem with an android phone connecting to it.

Hey,

I was out shopping for a 18-20k nge android for a friend. One the shops showed us the newly launched Xperia Neo L. Its a 4", out of the box ICS, 1500 mah battery, good display etc. Have a look at this before making a purchase.

Thanks, but my daughter is the lucky one who'll be using the SGS2. I just bought an Atrix-2 a few weeks ago for myself, pretty happy with that.

The price was 23.5K which was at least 3K less than what I have seen in most shops / online stores. So definitely worth a wait

Do you guys face problems to keep it in trouser/jean's pocket while riding bike/driving car?

@3MP on paper the camera looks basic - how is the image quality?

I almost made my mind for HTC One V but after seeing this mobile I am confused! But I hope this one is better than One V in all aspects except the camera?

You can keep it in your trouser's rear pocket... but not while riding or driving.

Image quality is not as bad as expected. It is decent but not outstanding.

I was in a similar situation.
Thankfully Touchpal was already installed, so just switched over to it.
Then went to swype.com, registered and got the beta. Using it ever since and I am happy with it.
I think swype is at par with SwiftX in terms of predictions now.

Congratulations on the Defy.
I think the device is water resistant and not water proof.

What are you guys talking about? The six 'screws' on the left and right?

Hopefully Defy owners should get a proper JB by end of August.

Tablet in trouser pocket? I don't think so. I never carry it around all time. Am using it basically as an e-book reader and browsing. Basically its like an always ON netbook for me Regarding camera, I haven't used the rear camera yet. Have tried video conferencing using the front cam.
I don't think its a good idea to use it as a phone, its too big for calling.

Ummm...Well then this phone is not for me! .

Only two phones have touched my heart till date i.e. tab2 and One V.

Any better alternative than One V?

Atrix 2 with 1 year manufacturer warranty going on eBay deals at 19.9K. Its a great VFM at that price. Good phone with nice battery back up. Also got 8MP cam with 1080 video recording.

Any tab with 7" screen is not for you than. You should possibly look for a tab with 5" screen.

Have a look at the Dell Streak -

Dell Streak | Tablet | Flipkart.com

Even that has voice call facility.
