Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

^^^Not looked into it in detail, but it seems only advantage of the Neo L is the bigger screen. But remember that it may mean lower battery life. Both could be good options depending on your priorities. Neo L seems like a better bet then the Neo V at least.

Which site gives the best deal for the SGS2 nowadays? Flipkart price is 27900/- which includes a 16GB mem card.

Neo L does have good specs and ICS but 18k+ is a lil out of reach. Will consider it if prices come down by 2k by August end (seems unlikely though)
Oh yeah, forgot its for your wife! Then go ahead and buy. It does look a bit teenage-focused, if she doesn't mind that?

What r your thoughts of the Neo L (I read somewhere that the L is a single core and U is dual core ) ?
Yes Neo L is single core, much like One V (It's direct competitor). Xperia U is dual core and great bang for your buck.

Best price is at Sulekha for Rs 26.4k (if you apply the VISA card specific coupon - SUL-VISA-1500) or for Rs 26.8 at Adexmart

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have a problem at hand. My SGS2 got drenched a bit in the rain (using the word 'bit' as it was not fully submerged in water), and now its not starting up. Giving it to the service center is one option, but has anyone got primary troubleshooting to be done before I hand it over?

I have removed the battery, sim card and memory card from the mobile and kept it for drying overnight. Tried once in the morning but it didnt start up. Anyone has any idea to go about it?

Keep it in a bowl of uncooked rice for at least 2 days. Rice should cover the phone fully. Then try to power it on..

Neo L available at 14.9K on eBay with seller warranty on both hardware & software for 1 year. Seems to be a good deal for a good 4" phone. And the seller is a reputed one, I've lot of purchases from them.

Wont the dust from rice cause a problem for the phone?

I'd rather get a phone with manufacturer's warranty instead, I'm not willing to buy something worth 15,000 without a proper backup. Although I have bought a camera from JK back in 2005 and had no trouble, but still.

Thanks a lot for the information though.

Motorola Razr Maxx. It has a 3300 mah battery. Should last for 2 days in a smartphone usage scenario.

My Galaxy Nexus runs for 2 days in a single charge. Moderate use. 2g/wifi always on.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Anyone knows of a good GPS software for Android phones which has the following features -

1. India Navigation
2. Trip Summary results (like total time, top speed, avg speed etc)

I have seen summary screens on standalone GPS units like TomTom etc but not on the GPS software i have tried on my android phone (Sygic/Wuze etc).

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Has anybody used the CM10 experimental build released here I am on SiyahKernel v3.5 with dual boot. Is CM10 compatible with this kernel? I am worried about THE MMC-SUPERBRICK-BUG. So can somebody tell me if i can go ahead with CM10?

I am using S2.
