You can use Enhanced Email to bypass PIN security (available on Play store)

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Anyone tried the CM10 mod for Wildfire S? I'm currently a fan of Wild Child Rom. CM 7 was never stable in my wildfire S
Also any suggestions on the best replacement keyboard for Gingerbread?

Not sure if you'd get a free app.

I use Road Sync by Dataviz Corp. Works perfectly with all MS Exchange Servers. Costs just Rs 517 at GP.

Thanks. It sounded too good to be true and indeed turned out to be so.
My company does not support enhanced mail for security reasons.

I tried Road Sync but the Pin annoyed me. I have been using TouchDown for almost 2 months now and works like a charm but I wasn't happy with the interface. Downloaded Moxier trial today & I have to say that I am loving it so far. Just like TouchDown, the Pin is only required when accessing Exchange mail. All other functions on the phone are available without the pin. This is not the case with Road Sync or the stock email client on S3.

OT - When is Jelly Bean being rolled out in India for S3?

I've been using Road Sync for years w/o a pin #, though the mandatory requirement is probably set at the server end. This probably varies from Org to Org.

SGS3 JB is expected this month - no saying exactly when, but some reports point to after 20th Oct. The official test version is already out on XDA. I tried it, but went back to 4.0.4 after I found battery life was reduced drastically.

You're welcome. Enhanced email will work only in cases where the server actually allows access to those mobile clients which doesn't have exchange policies support. Moxier is indeed a great option. After shifting to Atrix 2 I convinced my IT team and they added an exception to my device. Now I can use stock app without PIN. The stock app on Atrix 2 is too good to be missed.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Both are similar products. Depends on whether you are happy with the size of the Note!

1. Screen:

Note's screen is a bit "different" it uses a different arrangement for pixels as compared to S3. This would be a personal preference. (apart from difference in size)

2. Performance:

Note 2, S3 Models that are being sold in India have exact same CPU/GPS. Note 2 Has more RAM (2 GB as compared to 1 GB in S3)

Note has much bigger battery so it should last 2 - 3 days in Normal smartphone usage.

Overall, I would suggest Note 2 if you like size of Note 2 screen.

Totally concur this. Note 2 is the best smartphone in the world right now. If you have the budget for it, then go for it.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

A colleague purchased Karbonn A9 for Rs. 7500 from a store in Pune (with bill).

Flipkart price is Rs. 8100 and the cheapest I could find was Rs. 7900.

So, offline price can still beat online price depending on negotiation skills.

By the way if you want to shop today itself then there is a superdeal on the HTC OneX right now that you can consider as an alternative to these two. It is available for 29.9k on homeshop18 superdeals:

http://superdeals.homeshop18.com/dea...nt=samsung-htc

OneX is equally good phone and is much better looking than these two.
