Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I am very happy with my S3. This is my first Samsung & my first Android. I have seen others use S2, Galaxy Ace, Note, Note 2, Galaxy Pocket and everything else Android on Sony, Motorola & HTC but I personally feel the S3 beats them hands down.
I am so glad that I didn't buy the iPhone as I got the ipad2 as a gift and it's a painfully proprietary arrangement. Beautiful device but horrible compatibility with non-apple devices.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Need some advice guys.

I am thinking of buying the Samsung Galaxy Chat, link below:

http://www.flipkart.com/samsung-gala...mddemcf92ptxey

There is not any substantial review on it except the user comments. Has anybody bought this phone recently? Please shed some experience.

Main reason for buying this phone is the physical keypad and the latest android version. I am already using a blackberry and want to replace it.

In the Android world it really is.

Also I often wonder why would someone want a "smartphone" screen smaller than 4", given that the two most useful functions on the phone (browser & maps) would need as much real estate as possible. I played with the Iphone 4S and frankly the 3.5" screen is just too "small".

Hopefully it'll still be a 720p screen (or at least a qHD resolution screen).

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys,
Need suggestions for a good headset (with mic) for my MM A100. The original one sucks, plus I need a set with earplugs that go inside the ears. Got normal Bose headphones/ear-phones, but the work-situation demands I keep a head-set too.

Now I have tested a few head-sets, apparently not all of them seem to work with this phone. I am not sure if the problem is with the headsets (I tried) or with the phone, however if anybody has suggestions for headsets (for a budget less than 1k) that have worked with multiple brands, please do share.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Hi Friends

Can anyone help me with my samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

I need to increase the length of the ringtone before it goes into voicemail. As of now, I think its set at 10 - 15 seconds, which is very very low. Can I increase this this to 30 seconds?

Cheers

Is Samsung Galaxy Note N-7000 easily fittable in pants/jeans side pocket and comfortable while driving a car?

no yaar, all these qwerty android are crappy compromise low spec phones. unless that's what you want. galaxy Y pro duos atleast had a lovely trackpad. without it, no point really.

this has low res, no trackpad, crap cam, crap little battery. what's the point?

the good part is that unlike chacha its screen is portrait, which is important! half apps on chacha are rotated! (yes android is a stupid OS where paid apps are clueless!!)

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

So the wife has decided to graduate to SGS3. where is the cheapest I can source it, outside of HS18? While I will wait for that deal to reappear, what else?
/ wont consider ebay seller warranty pieces either.

Nowhere is it available at HS18 prices other than the grey market. But when my friend purchased on HS18, they didn't give colour options. He had to buy a red coloured S3.

Wait for the Moto Razr HD. What a brilliant piece that was. I played around with the Verizon 4G LTE variant and man that was one good looking phone that beat the S3 hands down.

Battery life is way better than S3, performance is really good, Video quality is amazing, and 12MP camera is excellent. It really really puts up a fight to the S3. Loved that Kevlar carbon fibre full back panel and how compact it was for a 4.7" display.

Defy users: Get ready for Android 4.1.2 on your Defy/ Defy+.
A new build is available (though there are bugs related to camera), which you can try (at own risk of course).

You wont feel really comfortable using it for longer duration. Pant pocket will be fine, but would find it difficult in jeans. I usually put in my jean while having lunch. Deep pockets would be fine but I find it difficult in short pockets.

For driving I would recommend the shirt pocket or place it on the center console. That's what I usually do.
