Woah woah woah.
a. Which ROM was installed?
b. of course reinstall man. no questions.
c. You just need 100-170 mb space for a custom ROM ZIP file.

Try reverting to RC0 or some similar stable ROM.

ah dang. Then must be some crapware that you installed.

WajkIUI is the standard recipe. The GB version. 2.3.16 or such. Or maybe a bit earlier too. Always been rock stable (though i had my 1st ever reboot on it recently).

The 2.3.6 update was out long back. As far as the ics update is concerned, I don't know if our phone will ever get it.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Today, more like 00:30 tomorrow the Samsung Event starts and the SIII will be unveiled!

Have had my SII for exactly for a year and easily the best phone of I ever had. Meddled around with umpteen ROMS, almost bricked it once or twice (luckily have the jig) can't wait to see what the SIII will offer (though I won't be upgrading for the time being).

BTW, has anyone got Sygic running on the ICS ROM?

Hmm, you suggested 2.3.30 for me and now moving further back?

What is really wrong with 2.4.20 and will 2.5.4 fix it?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

S3 what a downer after such a buildup! Samsung when will you start using some premium materials on the chassis as well??

It seems like Apple will still rule the world with its I5.

+1

Back in end Nov '11 the plastic put me off the SGS2 (and other Samsung phones including the Note). I finally went in for the Razr and the IP4s.

Looks like Sammy wants to dish out plastic rubbish all over again. Sad for a powerhouse of a phone which will probably be a benchmark android handset.

Cheers!

Well R2D2 the reality of Android world is that no device can remain an Android flagship for long! Already Sony is coming with the Hayabusa that will trump the S3 in most aspects (an advanced 13MP camera, 4.55" HD display with regular RGB matrix as opposed to Pentile one on S3, S4 processor which is superior than exynos of S3, 2200 mAH battery etc all in a 7mm body!). Sony also uses better quality materials.

Another disappointing news is that Samsung is NOT going to release the official Google phone (Galaxy Nexus) in India

What a bad day!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I am impressed by the new S III. Apart from hardware enhancement, there are new software features too which i like.

Some that stand out imho will be buddy share, s-health, s-voice, s-beam, gesture support, 20 shot burst mode, 50gb dropbox and pretty good photo sharing features.

I hope it looks good in hand. In photos it looks ok. Will have to wait till june till it comes out and then compare with One X.

Umm because i knew few things:
- 2.4.20 had some problems with market access - was rock stable otherwise.
- 2.3.16 was stable except that ONE restart i recently had. But i've never had random restarts, so I said look for an older version

You can try 2.4.20 and if it accesses the market, your job is done.

Yup. 2.3.16 was the best WIUI IMO..but for want of better battery life, switched to CM7.2
