Personally I see dual SIM as great solution, Why do I say that because there is a great demand for expense management solutions by business and in absence of dual SIM in USA and EU they are moving to cloud based solutions
or software based second line calling ( similar to google voice)

There is strong arm twisting from operators on OEM for all network related features. So you won't find any dual SIM device in operator subsidized market even as an open model.
Since flagships are always designed keeping big operators in mind you won't find dual SIM phones in premium models of major manufacturers either.

Anyone wants a Redmi 1S? I've got one lying around in my cart and it'll be there for the next 30 hours. Do let me know. Send me a PM

Going with your original requirements, try the Lenovo P780. Covers most if not all your requirements. Comes with dual sim, 4000 mah battery, a 5 inch display with 1280*780 display, etc. Not sure if the update to Kitkat has happened yet but it did come with JB.

My dad has been using it for the last year or so and is in love with it. He runs 3G on it on one sim and uses the other number for his work calls and with that, the battery lasts him about 2 days, which I thought for a 5 inch phone was amazing.

Also, since it is a bit dated-a year old-you could find it at the 15k-17k mark. Or lower.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Google has now released v5.0 of the Gmail app.

Along with some Material goodness, the big news is that the Gmail app now supports other email accounts as well, including Exchange accounts.

This pretty much makes the AOSP email app redundant.

Yep, that's exactly where I've been checking for the last 3 days now.

That's really good news, it might help many to get rid of paid Exchange apps like Nine or Touchdown. Will have to wait and see how the app holds up. How come I didn't get the update (MotoG)?

Well, the Play Store will be rolling the update out in phases. I don't think it has reached Indian shores yet.

It should be here in a few days.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I just downloaded the APK for GMail 5.0. Looks like we'd need another addon apk for Exchange support in Gmail. Looks nice, though!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys I have ordered the Xiaomi Redmi 1s on yesterday's flash sale on FK. One of my friend has this phone and when I asked him to check the SAR rating by dialing *#07#, he said it isn't displaying the values but on the box the value is written as 1.210W/kg (MAX). It doesn't show the individual values for head and body.

Are these normal and is there any other way to verify these?

Hope you have got the phone by now. Kindly post the review. Thanks.
