Do they expect us to take it to the US to claim warranty? ASUS wont honour that here.
The notes section of the specific product's page says, "
All our imported products come with respective original manufacturer's warranty and most of the manufacturers have authorized service centres in India. We do not represent any brand or manufacturer.".

Best to check with Asus directly.

E-Book Reader suggestions

Hello,

I want to buy a Tablet mainly for reading E-Books. The requirements in descending order of priority are:

1. Should be able to read E-Books without much eye-strain for long periods.

2. Size should be handy like a book. (7" - 8").

3. Availability of LEGALLY downloadable e-books in the supported formats in India. (mainly English Fiction and general interest books). Price of E-Books should not be too much more than corresponding physical books in India.

4. Will be using it also for reading Indian newspapers/magazines/news. Availability of the same in the supported formats.

5. Battery life of 7-8 hours of reading.

6. 3G is desirable but not a deal-breaker.

7. Price 10K-15K.

8. Availability of the device in India is not a major constraint.

Suggestions? If this is already asked somewhere else, please link me to the same.

I am going to look at the 'Swipe Velocity Tab' this weekend.
I am also interested in getting feedback on Swipe quality.
I sent them an email earlier this week asking for some technical info.
Their customer service was prompt in coming back to me. That reassured me that the company is ready to look after their customers. Hopefully that is also translated in their service department if one needs to use them!

My iBerry BT10 tablet went into a boot loop when I tried turning it on right after a 2 hour flight. Hand baggage not registered. It doesn't have a removable battery, so will have to wait for it to discharge.

Could air pressure or humidity have caused this ?

One word for you, Kindle. I have been using it for a year now. Books can be bought from Amazon, cost is in rupees now so no need to pay in USD. Absolutely 0 eye strain, excellent battery life as well.

I havent used Kindle Fire HD but have heard some good reviews about it. I got the basic kindle as i only use it for reading books and it solves my purpose to the T.
Edit:Here is the Kindle discussion link for you to explore

Got a very best deal that day and finally ended up saving some 72$.
will be shipped to me by one of the friend by Dec 25 and my son is very much eager for his iPad Arrival.
I have one of my relative coming from US in January. I am very much inclined to buy an iPad 4th generation. But, Bestbuy is showing 499$.
Do you know any other website which deals with very good offers on Apple iPad as Christmas/ New year is approaching?
And, if you don't mind please tell me the exact procedure to be followed?
My relative is already in US, should I give his address as Shipping address?

Keep checking on deals2buy.com as they run few deals every day. You can order online and provide your relative's shipping address for delivery.

Thank you.

Would bringing a sealed box be a problem in airport? What precautions need to be taken?

I got it on Black Friday Deals. You might get some good deals on Christmas or New year. Keep eye on these sites like Bestbuy, Sams club, Target & Walmart.
Best wishes for a Best Buy.
