Hyundai i20 Face-Lift (2012) Spotted for the first time in India on Pg. 2

They have run their tests. From the pics we now know what to expect.

The big question is "will they launch their new version in the expo???"

When Honda resolves the Thailand production issues, the Jazz numbers will start to grow and perhaps eclipse i20 numbers. Hyundai will then be forced to make the i20 more competitive and competent - put a better engine, fix steering rattles and stop overpricing spare parts.

Now that i20 facelift did not feature in auto expo, does anyone know when is the facelift expected? Will it be in Q1 2012 or later ?

According to Advaith Hyundai sales person in Bangalore it would be around August this year.

Hopefully the petrol engine is upgraded with the Kappa2 engine. It was strange that the lower i10 engine was upgraded to Kappa2 but they never upgraded the i20's.

Also hope AC has been upgraded and power steering issues have been fixed.

Considering the fact that this is going to be more of a face-lift,and Hyundai has got to dish out the "fluidic" treatment,I hope the bland sides of the current i20 don't contrast much with the bold or rather fussy/over-done design of the front and back.

I think you're going to be disappointed.

Hyundai, at most, will add a crease slightly defined crease that runs along the side of the car. I don't expect much change to the sides, which are minimalistic. And it will certainly have a contrasting effect when the face is given the 'fluidic' treatment. Ironically, the fluidic i20, in essence, isn't going to be quite fluidic.

Any changes in the interior?
I am not able to figure out any ! :o
Just the trim color looks different but the European version did have dark interiors I guess

If this is just a cosmetic upgrade why are they terrain testing the mechanicals? is it more than just a facelift? I could see still it has the same interior design with new buttons.

Thats an i30, not i20. But the new design could be similar.

Speaking of the auto expo, I was expecting to see the i20 facelift there at the Hyundai stall, but all I saw was this one with roof rails extra -
