More pics. from Geneva courtesy IAB.
Looks typical Jeep, yet contemporary and relatively modern. Plenty of variants on offer. 100 countries will be getting Renegade.

Re: Fiat's India strategy revealed. Abarth, Jeep, new Linea & Punto coming. More insi

Check this news article today in DNA. If the news is true then I am feeling sad.

http://www.dnaindia.com/money/report...-rages-1966879

Quote from the article
Quote:

Automaker Fiat has deferred plans of launching its iconic Jeep brand in India on account of the unrelenting slowdown and uncertainty in the market.

The company had announced in 2012 that it would launch Wrangler and Grand Cherokee from the Jeep's stable in 2013.

Nagesh Basavanhalli, president and managing director, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India Operations, said, "Clearly we wanted to bring the Jeep brand at the right time and when we took a step back and said, look at the market condition. It is the first time in 11 years that the automotive market has declined and the consumer sentiments are low. Foreign exchange is also fluctuating"

"There are so many uncertainties in this market and you get only one chance to introduce a brand like that. We have deferred the introduction of Jeep and not cancelled it. We will come back and talk about it in the next few months," he said.

The company said a decision on this will be taken after elections.

Fiat was banking on its plans of introducing Jeep brand into the market, considering the growing demand for sports utility vehicles (SUVs).

It was planning to cover the entire range of SUVs under the Jeep brand. The idea was to import Wrangler and Grand Cherokee and then look at localising the production.

Separate exclusive dealerships for Jeep were also in the pipeline.

Basavanhalli said the company would stick to the original plan once it decides to bring in Jeep models. "We are watching and monitoring the market month on month," he said.

Meanwhile, Fiat launched the new Linea on Tuesday with price starting at Rs 699,000 (ex showroom Delhi). The company will also launch four more products this year as it looks to expand its market share.

Fiat will launch Abarth 500 and Avventura (compact SUV) before December. The company has 108 dealers and is looking at taking that number to 150 by the end of this calendar year.
Ha ha... They are still watching & monitoring the market month on month ? What more can you say on this?

Isn't the luxury market growing? I see reports that Audi, for the first time in India by any luxury car maker, managed to sell 10,000+ units annually. There is nothing as the right time, it's the right products and the right strategy that makes or breaks a product.

Flaunting really old products, low quality manufacturing and lean & mean dealer network are Fiat's actual issues. They are hiding behind the slow down and making excuses!

The Merc S-class launch edition has sold all the allotted 125 units, at a price of 1.57 crore ex-showroom Delhi. This fact alone speaks volumes..

with your post.

There seems to be some difference in the alloys of both cars in the first picture. Are they both Punto or one of it going to be Abarath

The second car shown in the picture is the active version and those are wheel caps for the steel rims.

It seems that the length of the 1st Punto is slightly lesser than the 2nd one. Or is it due to the angle from which the pic was taken?

Since they have only camouflaged the front bumper, rear bumper and rear lights, it mostly looks like the Punto Evo
Do compare the design of the Rear reflectors and the tail lamps with the one from the Evo.
They seem to look quite similar

Edit - I can also see Turn-Indicators on the ORVMs in the photos posted by 'iamback'

But the front is closer to the Avventura concept than the Evo. Notice the placement of indicators & foglamps in the front bumper in the Evo being different from the ones spied here.

Note the split grill, placement of FIAT logo, chin - which seems to be replaced with another unit wherein the air dam is replaced with foglamps

At the rear, the tail-lights and the lights in the bumper seem to be same, but the bumper unit is different - looking at the placement of the numberplate and considering spare-wheel mounting is not required on the regular Punto hatchback
