Knowing that lci about to launch soon, what do you suggest, is it worth buying current version for someone who plans to keep the car for 5-7 years?
Is 5 really worth considering compared to e class(car will be used for long trips only with family) I'm upgrading from Superb, was looking for car in range of c class but both 3 and c class lack legroom(new superb is great vfm and everything is new but still the feeling when you drive is same as my old superb so want some change, so decided to stretch a bit. Even 5 has very decent legroom so I'm more attracted towards E exclusive variant but it is more expensive. Any chances of getting e220d exclusive's price close to 520d? We've never used a diesel car till date but this time I'm pretty sure I want to go for Diesel only. Experiencing nightmares while selling my superb tsi.

You may have missed the bus on the discounts. The 5 and E were both are 10L off on ex showroom. Now discounts are much less. If you are upgrading from the superb you won’t be happy with the 5 back seat. The E is better suited for you. But I suggest two more options to consider- The 3 series LWB as it has legroom better than the 5 and the Audi A6 as it has big discounts(hd approx 15L off ex showroom in December and possibly continuing with 2020 stocks).
Keep an open mind for petrol engines too as they are often cheaper and more fun to drive. The FE is modern turbo petrols is not far behind diesels.

Completely agree about the rear seat experience of the 5, especially coming from the superb Superb!
However, unlike Mercedes, BMW hasn't seen as big a price hike & discounts are similar to what was available last year end. Wouldn't be surprised to see it improve marginally by March end.

The A6 is a good choice as you've suggested - I remember reading (on TBhp only) about a surat dealer offering a wicked ₹18L discount on the top end technology trim.

I would also suggest looking at the 6GT which has great discounts.

PS: I second Sahil on going the petrol route with the BMW. It'll not only be lower on maintenance (no BS6 adblue or DPF issues), but the 30i is much more fun on longer trips.
Also unlike the Superb with its troublesome DSG which would keep buyers away : the petrol 30i BMWs (and 30d too) are a lot more desirable to enthusiasts compared to the 4 pot 20d.

Should be in the range of Rs. 10L or thereabouts.
I remember the 630i GT working out to be similar to the E200.

What exactly would be the changes in the LCI and are there chances of a major price hike?

Expect the prices to go up by 5 - 10 and all the discounts to be removed. New features you can see on the cars abroad. mostly mild headlight change and rear light changes. expect slightly more efficiency in the engines and better quality in the interior otherwise nothing much. The icing would be if BMW india brings the "e" version of 5. that is the plug in hybrid. That would be interesting but doubtful.

Is there any BMW 5-Series official review for the Model available in 2018-2019?
One of my relative getting pre-owned BMW 520i SportsLine variant which is in immaculate condition and almost unused. He was looking for Team-BHP review and I could not find it either. Please share the link with me.

I will imagine you are referring to the 530i sport line, or are not talking about India, as the 520i last came in the F10 (CBU pieces) .
For the 530i sport line you can check up my review here https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...30-000-km.html (BMW 530i Review (G30) : 2 years & 30,000 km)

It is for India. I am not well aware of the lineup in India. I believe then it should be 530i. Thanks for review link.

Any idea about the current discounts on 530i and 530d? Are dealers still low on stock like last year?

In South at least, most dealers have exhausted all 5 & 3 SWB stocks. You can at best hope that the 5 LCI launch will make a few dealers start discounting.

Well then it's not the best time to buy, I guess. Might make sense go wait till December-2021 or even start of next year.

Hey how does this deal sound? 530d, 18k on odo, mid 2018 manufactured and registered, warranty hasn’t expired yet but insurance has. Asking 46L.

I had almost closed a deal with 520d Luxury line for 55 OTR, Punjab but the child in me thought of it better to patiently wait and look for those 6 cylinders instead. The 330Li M sport is also a sweet thing but with almost no discounts its landing 60 OTR. Ideas please? 😃
