Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Honest pricing! I hope it finds success. Though I'll never own a CS, this makes my interest in the hatchback version grow even more.

Aspire Mid-7.59 lac(Equivalent to their Earlier Zxi)
Aspire Titanium-8.19 lacs
Aspire Titanium+ -8.89 lacs(with 6 Airbags)

Call it wishful thinking but I think these are realistic prices which Ford could target at.

They undercut the Dzire and have a realistic pricing on the charts
The Prices are out.
My guestimates were not to far I Guess.....(Honestly, am surprised actually)
Hence I deserve a pat on the back....

Diesel

Ambiente: Rs. 5,89,990/-

Trend: Rs. 6,76,990/-

Titanium: Rs. 7,69,990/-

Titanium+: Rs. 8,24,990/-

Super pricing Ford. Way to go.

Can the Aspire do to Ford what the Ikon did to them in the 2000s?

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Very good prices as I thought after what Hyundai and Maruti has done. Automatic is also right on my target price of 799000 its 20000 less at 779000.
Its good looking Sedan and hope engines are also good. Will test drive soon to know.

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

They've addressed all the concerns of the Figo/Classic:

better engine numbers.
better NVH.
lower kerb weight.
better ground clearance(174 mm vs 168 fiesta classic/figo).

All this with VFM pricing and a design that doesn't offend anyone(like the old gen dezire).

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

This is just brilliant pricing from Ford, yet again. After a slew of overpriced launches from Maruti, Hyundai and Honda, its great to see a capable product being launched at a value for money price point. The petrol mill may not be a performer but the diesel engine is one of the best in class matching Amaze's power figures with excellent refinement, the 1.3 MJD's and Hyundai's 1.1 diesel is not even in contention here. Diesel Aspire must be fun to drive with great power/weight and torque/weight rating.

Even the 1.5 double clutch is nicely priced, priced at a good level where competitors offer 1.2 and it has higher tax too.

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Well, sorry to burst the bubble but the pricing is not so extraordinary afterall.

If you look carefully, only the barebones base model is priced *below* the base model of competitors.

Have a look at this:

Ford Figo Aspire Hyundai Xcent Maruti Dzire Honda Amaze Tata Zest
1.2 Ambiente - Rs 4.89 lakh 1.2 Base - Rs 5.01 lakh 1.2 LXi - Rs 5.08 lakh 1.2 E - Rs 5.19 lakh 1.2 XE - Rs 4.87 lakh
1.2 Trend - Rs 5.77 lakh 1.2 S - Rs 5.67 lakh 1.2 LXi(O) - Rs 5.21 lakh 1.2 EX - Rs 5.56 lakh 1.2 XM - Rs 5.50 lakh
1.2 Titanium - Rs 6.70 lakh 1.2 SX - Rs 6.61 lakh 1.2 VXi - Rs 5.86 lakh 1.2 S - Rs 5.95 lakh 1.2 XMS - Rs 5.71 lakh
1.2 Titanium+ - Rs 7.25 lakh 1.2 SX(O) - Rs 6.87 lakh 1.2 ZXi - Rs 6.81 lakh 1.2 S+ - Rs 6.00 lakh 1.2 XT - Rs 6.29 lakh

Except base model, there are competitors variants which are cheaper, as you can see above.

However, one good point, as others pointed out - is the presence of Airbags as standard across the range, which the competetion does not offer (Although i did hear that Hyundai has introduced ABS as standard across all variants of Xcent recently - but i cannot confirm this).

The 5Ps of marketing are:

Product - Looks to be good. Safety features are a plus.

Price - Good

People - Haven't heard too many complaints

Place - Not applicable

Promotion - Ford, please do this well. You've done the difficult part right, now please market and sell the car well. You may not see Dzire volumes but numbers from Amaze, Etios & Xcent are right there for the taking.

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Fabulous pricing across the range, indeed! Combine this with plenty of good promotion, and Ford has a winner in sales ahead.

The 1.5L DCT now looks like a steal at this introductory price. I expect plenty of AT owners to now look at this (seriously) VFM package. Premium hatchbacks will surely feel the heat, while segment competitors such as the XCent, Amaze, etc. will definitely see a drop in sales in the coming months. Of course, DZire being a Maruti-Suzuki product, might not be that much affected.

The Aspire Titanium+ variant is uniquely different from the rest of the immediate competition's top models. It offers several features which the rest of the competition's top models don't offer, so the Titanium+ should be differentiated by keeping it in a bracket of it's own.

As such, the Aspire Titanium should be the variant directly competing against the DZire ZXi, XCent SX(O), Zest XT, etc. And at the price offered, it's a piece of sheer dynamite!

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

i personally feel 1.5 automatic is immense value for money at this price point.
dual clutch
esp
traction control
hill assist
Abs
Ebd
Airbags

excellent pricing. I am too tempted to exchange my 18 month old figo with this
I just wish they had given six airbags in the AT.

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Fantastic pricing.

My only grouse is that AT is not offered with 6 airbags and Titanium+ Diesels is not offered with ESP/TC.
I fail to understand the following, will be very costly to add 4 Airbags to AT version or to add ESP/TC to Titanium+ model. Its same as what Hyundai has done for Creta.
Hope they market it well so that it captures some of the market (may be from Amaze/Zest/Xcent).

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Is this pricing for real. I was really pessimistic of pricing seeing Jazz, Creta and S cross launch prices. Even with this in mind, I expected the Titanium+ diesel to be priced close to 9L. At 8.25L they have undercut my expectations.

The Titanium AT with 1.5Ti-VCT, 6 speed DSG at 7.79 lakhs looks too good to be true!!

I so badly want to see this engine and gearbox in the upcoming Figo hatch. Please Ford I am begging you to get this into the hatchback.

Re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Does the DCT have a 10 year warranty? I remember Ford offering it on the Fiesta. If that's the case, I will wait for the hatch and book the DCT (provided they offer it on the hatch). Well done Ford.

True that.
I guess it'll be some 70 k cheaper.

Finally something reasonably priced.
Some relief after the Creta and S-Cross launch.
I was worried that the trend of overpricing might catch on with the compact sedan as well.

The automatic is priced beautifully. For 1.1 Lakh extra, they are not only giving the impressive Dual Clutches but also a bigger engine.
Price for the base variant is awesome. Looking at the price, it becomes hard to believe there are airbags inside.

It seems they had to skip on the ABS for the base variant to keep the entry point below 500,000.

Well if you go by the stack it does look like that. But actually if you see, Trend version is aspire is comparable to VXi of Dzire. The Dzire still doesnot get Airbags and ABS.From that perspective Aspire is definitely a lot cheaper.
Similarly ZXi of Dzire can be compared to Titatnium, where as Titanium+ with 6 airbags and leather seats does not have a comparable model in Dzire.
