Actually the dealer is saying similar to your pricing but he says Zeta(1.6) will be ~ 10 to 10.5 ex showroom

Got a call from my city's Nexa representative. On pricing front, they have approximately hinted that pricing will start from base Ecosport Diesel and top out well before Duster 2WD mid Variants. That translates to 8 Lacs Ex-showroom for the base 1.3L and 12Lacs for the Top End 1.6L diesel.

Also, they informed me that most of the demand is for the top end 1.3L variants and I am the 2nd one in my city to register for the 1.6L.
However, I did feel that may be Maruti has asked them to promote the 1.3L a bit more aggressively. They tried their best to list out the benefits of the smaller engine.

Cars will be up for display by 20th July.

Being a total import and also with 67% localization, I don't think the 1.6L Top end would be priced below 11.5L (Ex-showroom) whereas the 1.3L should be priced cheap as that is a widely accepted and sold engine.

I do see a 70:30 sales initially for the 1.3:1.6 engine if compared. Initially not many would buy seeing the price but as days pass by, the 1.6L would sell more after Maruti produces the same locally rather than importing it.

So far I know that there are two dealerships coming up in Mumbai -
1. Sai Service - Lower Parel - Dealership is coming up near the existing one
2. Navneet Motors is coming up too

The car would be on display starting today at Phoneix Mall Lower Parel.

I do have contact number of the Sales Rep of Sai Nexa, but not sure if its appropriate to share here.

When Ertiga and Ciaz are priced well over that, how come their premium car priced at that level! May be a story to attract more pre-launch bookings.

May be you can contact a Sai Service dealer in Delhi. I think its the Sai Service team that has bagged the Nexa rights for now.
The problem is the lack of info on this on the regular maruti web page. The nexa website is useless. Maruti should provide info on the places where they have put up the display of the car.

The Alpha has leather seats @ HID lamps as additional. I dont see a price difference of more than 50-60k between those. The Zeta would be 10.5 and Alpha 11 L ex showroom. The Road tax will affect the 1.6 Zeta and Alpha badly. But all these are speculations for now.

Apart from projectors and leather, the Alpha got Rain sensing wiper, reverse parking camera, cruise control, climate control over Zeta right?

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross - View from Business Standard.

One has to keep in mind that the car is a crossover and not an SUV, which means it combines the comforts of a sedan and the practicality of a hatchback.

But one didn't expect the S-Cross to have no petrol option. This seems like a very smart move by Maruti as petrol cars in this segment make up 5-8 per cent of the volume, basically making them quite insignificant

The S-Cross did get a lot of attention when I drove it from Mumbai to Nashik.
We received many thumbs up along the way, and when I stopped for a break, the car was flanked by bystanders volleying me with one question after another

Its exteriors might not be its strongest feature but it is not something I would keep harping about it because to me its looks simple, yet there is something about it that is attractive.

The wide cabin will instantly bring a smile on your face - not because there is plenty of space - but because of the top notch quality that Maruti has managed to pull off. The S-Cross has predominantly all black interiors that I personally love as it brings a classy yet sporty feel to it and doesn't age quickly.

As I drove the new 1.6 engine, I was instantly swept away by its refinement and its linear yet swift response. Many may complain the powerplant lacks the punch or grunt a 1.6-litre should have, but it runs smoothly. The engine noise only tends to seep inside the cabin after crossing the 3,500rpm mark, which is decent. Though a mild lag can be felt, but its hardly unnerving or a worry as the S-Cross quickly soars pass this. But on an incline, the lag becomes a lot more evident. The gear ratios of the 6-speed manual transmission is spot on, as you aren't forced to keep changing the cogs on a frequent basis. What is even more impressive is that on empty long stretches on the highway, you could step on the accelerator and the 118bhp will keep on going ensuring the power flow continues effortlessly

The S-Cross held its own on twisty roads as no excess weight could be felt and there was hardly any body roll. The suspension set up was on the stiffer side but it managed to gobble up most of the potholes without any problem.

Pricing is going to play a big part in the S-Cross' success and if Maruti can price it aggressively, this could be another super hit for the company - this time in the premium segment though. I expect the S-Cross to cost Rs 8-12 lakh.

Taking note that design is subjective, we are of the opinion that the S-Cross lacks the road presence of the Renault Duster, the upcoming Hyundai Creta or even the Ford EcoSport for that matter. The S-Cross looks more like a pseudo-hatchback than a crossover, which would let people to think that it competes with the Hyundai i20 Active and Fiat Avventura, than say with an SUV like the Duster or Creta.

The talking point of the interior is the 7-inch touchscreen Maruti SmartPlay entertainment and navigation system, which has some room for improvement. The navigation especially doesn’t feel intuitive to use.

The positive thing being that certain owners, who have upgraded from a Maruti, would love the familiarity in the cabin of the S-Cross. On the downside, build quality is Swift-like, with certain controls feeling too hard and plasticky for a car that will cost over INR 10 lakhs. It’s high time Suzuki differentiates parts and build quality within its products.

What we love about the S-Cross are its seats. The front seats feel supremely comfortable with the right amount of under thigh and lumbar support. The rear seats also feel comfortable, but for a car measuring 4.3 meters long, rear legroom could have been more generous.

The version we drove was fitted with the 1.6-liter MultiJet engine (fully imported into India) capable of 120 PS and 320 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine settles into a quiet idle and NVH levels are indeed commendable. To put these levels into perspective, the NVH of the S-Cross 1.6 feels a tad more refined than a Swift diesel, but the Creta 1.6 diesel we drove earlier is still a step ahead. Flat out, the S-Cross 1.6 will hit 100 km/h in 11.3 seconds, claims Maruti.

What we can tell you is that this engine needs time until 1,750 rpm to get a move-on. Progress between 1,750-4,000 rpm is extremely punchy, and dare we say addicting. However, below this point, this unit feels bogged down, forcing one to downshift for overtaking maneuvers. For a clutch that handles 320 Nm, the pedal feels rather light, and driving the S-Cross in bumper-to-bumper traffic shouldn’t take a toll on your left foot.

The S-Cross strikes a fine balance in the ride and handling department. At city speeds, the S-Cross adapts well to bad roads, though the ride quality is still a step below the Renault Duster. The handing department is one of the forte’s of the S-Cross. The chassis feels stiff and well balanced, and driving the S-Cross does remind one of the Swift, which is certainly a good thing. Body roll is well contained, and the steering feedback is second to none.

Another thing which stood out in our test drive was the high speed stability of the car. Even at speeds north of 100 km/h, the S-Cross inspires confidence in a way the Duster does not manage. Add to that the comfortable seats, the tall 6th gear and cruise control and the S-Cross could be the ideal family car for extended weekends. Our brief test drive of the former saw an average fuel efficiency of 15 km/l on the on-board display.

We get the indication that the S-Cross will be priced at a premium over the Ciaz, whose diesel variant starts at INR 8.25 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

The S-Cross is a difficult car to sum up: It comes across as a pseudo-hatchback but with a more powerful engine than the competition. That being said, buyers on the lookout for a crossover like the Duster or the Creta may not be impressed with the S-Cross, owing to its toned-down design and average build quality.

What we really love about the S-Cross are its driving manners, comfortable seats and punchy diesel engine. The feature list has also been well thought out, and being a Maruti, customers will enjoy unmatched after-sales service.

As a feature-packed large and powerful hatchback, the S-Cross has potential to appeal to the enthusiast who has otherwise been restricted to the Polos and the i20s. Rather than calling it a crossover, the S-Cross, safe to say, is India’s first C-segment hatchback (non-luxury segment), and the rugged styling you get on the outside is an icing on the cake.
