For confirmation, you cal call E-city RTO and confirm.
You were correct. It indeed had a preceding '0'

Re: Guidelines: Car Ownership Transfer in Bangalore

I need to transfer ownership of my leased car from my employer to me. I have got the documents from my employer. Vehicle is registered with Bangalore Central (KA01) RTO but my residence falls under Bangalore East (KA03) RTO.

I heard that application can be submitted online using Karnataka Transport Department website

Did anyone use online services? Do I still need to get clearance certificate from KA01 and then go to KA03 for RC transfer?

You will need a NOC to be issued from KA01 to KA03 which is quite simple. Apply with your vehicle transfer docs copy on plain paper and they will essentially issue a NOC online so it is cleared from their system, then apply online the usual way to the KA03 RTO. The form 29-30 you print off the Vahan website will show you KA03 once the KA01 people issue the NOC.

What are the docs that you referred to in vehicle transfer docs? I too need to transfer from KA03 to KA51.

Thanks.

Procedure for Transfer of Ownership on Registration Certificate:
The transfer of ownership of a vehicle is to be applied in the concerned Registering Authority Office where vehicle is already registered and following are the documents to be submitted:-

Registration certificate in original
Form 29 duly filled in duplicate (attested one copy)
Form 30 duly filled in duplicate
Attested copy of valid insurance certificate
Attested copy of address proof of purchaser
Attested copy of valid Pollution Under Control Certificate
Prescribed fee
Attested copy of PAN Card or Form 60 & 61(as applicable)

Once you take this over, they will typically issue a NOC and tell you to go to your own RTO.

Re: Guidelines: Car Ownership Transfer in Bangalore

Two basic questions on used car sale:

First - When handing over an existing vehicle in exchange for a new vehicle at the dealership (e.g. selling an existing Alto in exchange for a new Swift), what are the documents that one needs to take from the used car dealer, apart from the delivery note that it typically provided by the dealership?

I have already signed Forms 29 and 30 and handed over to the used car division of the dealership, which I understand would be used when the final buyer purchases my vehicle from them. I will also be handing over the RC book and insurance copy to the used car division at the time of handover of the vehicle.

Anything else that I need to take from the dealership apart from the delivery note?

Secondly, when the final sale to the end customer happens, what are the documents that I need to collect from the used car dealer, so that I have evidence of the sale and change in ownership of the car?

A copy of the sale paperwork
Buyer's ID proof
Endorsed copy of the RC showing the transfer of ownership.

Send the delivery note first by regd post / speedpost AD to your local RTO saying that the vehicle has been sold and as on [date] [time] you cease to bear responsibility for anything that happens to the vehicle. Later send them an endorsed copy of the RC.

Thanks! An associated question, especially to Bangalore members. Is there any specific person/ post at the RTO to whom the registered post needs to be addressed? Has anyone sent this kind of intimation to the Jayanagar RTO and received the acknowledgment (through RPAD/ SPAD)? If so, please do share details.

Just send it to "the regional transport officer"

It will be received in the RTO's tappal (post / documents receipt) section and they will sign / stamp the AD card. As long as you keep a copy of the acknowledgement due card along with a copy of what you sent the RTO that's fine.

Re: Guidelines: Car Ownership Transfer in Bangalore

Quick question, Bhpians! If I am applying for a RC ownership change, will I have to pay for address change separately or is it included in the ownership transfer itself?

Suggestions Bhpians!

I am trying to transfer the ownership of a bike(KA03) to my RTO(Koramangala) Do you guys suggest I should take the Mr Agent route or should I try visiting the RTO myself.

If anyone has a reliable Agent, could you please share some details?

Also has anyone used one of the online services for transfer of ownership like Quikr RTO Services, Drivekool or Notarykart?

Thanks!

I have used the services of Drivekool. It was to transfer my UP16 registered car to Bangalore (KA01). The process was very smooth and they were professional. I was kept updated at every step. Only thing is they will want you to make all payments in advance.

Quikr provides RTO services. I decided to inquire them. We need to first pay Rs. 99 (non refundable) as service fee just to get an entry to talk to their fellows. There are several services that can be selected from their screen before making this payment.

After payment their person will call to understand the complete requirement and quote the final price.

I need to transfer car ownership from Indiranagar to Elecrtonics City RTO. After I paid, the Quikr person called and quoted Rs 2500 for ownership transfer within the same RTO. Amount will be more if RTO is different.

When I mentioned that my RTO is different than the one already registered for the car, the Quikr guy mentioned that ownership transfer can be done in the same RTO even if my residence address falls under different RTO.

Is he correct or trying to pull a fast one or may be ignorant?

I have seen agents do this. The entire transfer is speed tracked - these guys bypass lot of things due to their contacts. So it's not false information.

Re: Guidelines: Car Ownership Transfer in Bangalore

I plan to buy a two wheeler from Ka -02/04 RTO and transfer to KA03. Have two queries

1. If the two wheeler has hypotheritcation, Should I transfer the vehicle first and then remove hypothetication or Should the current owner remove hypothetitcation first and then I transfer the RC?
2. RTO website says "Clearance Certificate issued by the previous Registering Authority except two wheelers Registration Certificate" . Does this mean if no hypothetication, I can straight away apply for transfer if there is no hypothetication?
