I remember I read somewhere (I think Motoroctane) that its a 100Bhp & 140nm engine. I would like to believe what you are saying , though.

Sorry, couldn't resist posting this. Rushlane rechristens the Mahindra XUV300 as the Mahindar XUV300.

Power and torque figures are expected to be very close to what i ve mentioned...definitely more than 100 hp/140nm

The petrol and diesel engines produce 200NM and 300NM torque respectively. The power figures haven't been revealed though.

This is looking like a good vehicle with each passing day. I wonder why Mahindra chose to equip this car with an AMT. With premium aspirations, they should have gone with a conventional torque converter AT.

I think they are going to launch the 100 BHP petrol engine in February 2019 and the sportier variant with 120 BHP Turbo Petrol will be launched during the Autoshow in Jan 2020.

Answer is simple, cost...~40k for an AMT vs 1.0+ L for AT...

So what about those who want to pay the premium for the top variant with AT? I wish it comes at some point cause AMT just isn't going to cut it against Creta.

Mahindra is still testing it on roads, now in NCR. It was spotted by my elder brother in Gurgaon, it was rushing towards Manesar. Here is a short video on his DashCam. He said that the car has good acceleration.

Agreed, but in the end number matters...AMT buyers population is very much higher than AT population..and i believe Mahidra wants to undrcut creta, so AMT will be better option in that case..

Mahindra has to price the XUV3OO below the Marazzo.

Marazzo starts at 10lakh, and if the XUV3OO has the same engine with 2 seats less and <4m length, won't people expect the benefit to pass on to customers ?

Creta is going to need to become reasonably priced.

MUVs are normally priced lower than SUVs. Example: Ertiga vs. Brezza

This being a Sub-4m Compact SUV, M&M will definitely have more margins to play around the pricing & try to get numbers from Brezza & Creta.

If they just price it on-par/abit above (time tested & successful) Nexon, it'll be considered a sufficiently safe choice even being an fairly-new product.

re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

Probably a lot late for this thread. But won't this name create a bit of confusion?

Everyone I know calls the XUV, the XUV. No one bothers or recalls the 500 or the James Bond extension there is.

So, what will the larger market call this one?
