Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I'm amazed at how Tata is just missing the boat here. The missed the festive season, and now they are late in providing test-drive cars.

Meanwhile, we saw pictures in black on this thread, but the car is not available in black!?

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Well for all the folks saying that TATA has been slow, I think TATA is doing everything just right.

1.The car has not reached the showroom yet and hence it wont make too much sense advertising for the same, as people wont be able to go ahead and see the car. The TATA tag doesn't have the pull of bigger brands yet for people for people to plonk in such big money on a car that they haven't seen yet.
2. I'm sure TATA will start with a surge of HEXA ads once the cars are available for test drives and in the showrooms. If past examples are anything to go by, you would want the interest in anything to peak at the right time. If its too early, users might lose interest (ad fatigue).
3. TATA will have about a month and a half to the actual deliveries, so they have the time window to address anything that the media drives and forums users might have pointed out.
4. Team-bhp review isn't out yet

Work is in progress. Sometime in this month itself, if all goes smoothly.

Not absolute black, but the shade is called Sky Grey.

I have booked my XTA 4x2 in the same shade. [link]

As per the call back received from the Pune number, Hexa will be available in the showrooms from 2nd half of November. This is for Gurgaon.
ANR automobiles is the dealer taking care of test drives

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I booked the Hexa last week. Made the posting in the I booked my car thread

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/what-c...ml#post4090829

Slightly off topic: The logical side in me keeps wondering if it is a financially wise decision. Even if I keep the car for more than a lakh of kilometers the capital expense alone is nearly 20 per km. Even if I rent a car every time I want to travel it will much cheaper. But the driver in me tells me that I will only drive for another 10 years or so and therefore go ahead.
I always love to drive my friend's Aria. I have owned the earliest of the Indicas and currently owning two of TATA vehicles I know that their reliability has improved leaps and bounds. And it would only have improved further along with fit and finish. So the right now the driver in me is winning

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

It would be much more expensive to rent if you want to drive 100K kilometers.
Renting charges are for time + distance. If you want to use the car for longer duration (possession time) or longer distance or both, it would be cheaper to own.

Adding to that, one does recover a resale value as well. so effective cost of ownership may not be Rs20

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I have a feeling that a lot more bhp'ians have booked the Hexa than the Aria if you take similar time frames with respect to the launch / unveiling.

And it does talk about how much the product has impressed the readers when I assume majority may not even have seen / felt the product in person. I really hope TATA now roll up their sleeves and respect the decision taken by them. I am one of those who are clearly miffed at how they (mis)treated some of the owners and hope they'll never take the Hexa customers for a ride like that.

TATA - Never too often anyone gets a second chance like this; please be ready to go beyond the limits to keep the owners happy and provide a true premium experience.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I received a call from Tata Motors in response to my query on their website. The Hexa would be available in the showroom for TD later in November. They have started taking bookings for expected delivery in Jan 2017.

The price band for different variants (XM to XT) would be in the range of 13 to 18 Lakhs.

In light of the note ban, Tata's lethargy, laziness & turtle-slow pace must have just (unexpectedly) worked in their favour.

A BHPian reported on the note ban thread that a Toyota dealership he visited saw 18 cancellations in two days . That's ONE showroom.

I expect the shock & sluggishness to continue till January....market recovery will begin just when the Hexa is launched! Related post:

I expect new car discounts to climb as dealers will be eager to push metal out the door.

Used cars - a segment where black money has traditionally ruled - will take a major blow. Again, the white moneyed can look forward to some excellent deals. No better time to buy a used car with legitimate money.

In the shorter term, I'd expect new car sales to go through a slowdown. November will be BADLY hit. Longer term, there are huge, huge gains as a lot of dirty money is re-entering the system. IMHO, new car sales will grow after an initial lull.

I pity the guy who sold his S-Class yesterday for 20 lakhs cash + 10 lakhs cheque .

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

This confirms 7 seat version of XT which would dispel many fears! However, I couldn't find anything about climate control in the spec sheet. I wish they offer if on XM variant as well. Now that ABS and airbags have made way into the entry level variants, it shouldn't be that difficult to offer Automatic Climate Control on cars priced above 10 lakh.

The XTA and the 4x4 still have only the 6 seater option (as per the variant wise spec sheet and the website too). The other spec sheet says XT has both options, weirdly contradicting. Hope they get this sorted
