re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

There is no petrol engine in the pipeline either. Just the same old boring MJD VGT. Also I haven't heard anything about the 1.5L entering current S- Cross, maybe the next iteration 3-4 years down the line.

What are they selling in Indonesia ?Isn't it the 1.5l (P) variant? Or is your comment related to the India specific upcoming face-lift?

S-Cross face-lift has different Bonnet, front bumper, front grill and headlights. It also gets LED projector lamps, proper DRL and LED tail lamps.

Believe it's too late for the 1.6

Some of the dealers are not taking bookings anymore. Anyone has been able to book recently?

Maruti's circular to Nexa states to not take bookings for DDiS320, if currently they have in stock they will sell( but unfortunately none have them too).

The talk of petrol not being offered is hard to believe - it has to be a 1.5l or the boosterjet on offer.

Comment was about India specific update. The Gasoline engine definitely exists in MSIL's kitty. For some reason, they do not wish to deploy the same in India. Probably because of ultra low mileage. It's the same engine as SX4, just the displacement has been reduced.

40 L hits for the 1.6 S-cross but less than 4000 buyers in <2.5 years for the 1.6 Multijet? Tells a story - That this is not economies of scale as an engine for Maruti Suzuki

Any chance of seeing the Multijet II? It makes 94 bhp vs. 88bhp of the current motor and also has the turbo spooling in from 1500 rpm increasing driveability
Not much chance of the 1.5 L diesel from either Maruti or Tata beating the multijet in terms of overall reliability

Spotted the facelifted S Cross in Europe recently. Looked good. Much better road presence than the existing one

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Fiat India, for its Urban Cross cross-over used the 1.3 MultiJet II that makes 93 bhp of power. The 1.3 MultiJet I in the S-Cross makes 88 bhp only. The 1.3 MultiJet II has better linear power delivery with the turbo kicking in from as low as 1,500 rpm. It also makes 209 Nm of torque vs. 200 Nm of torque in the S-Cross DDiS 200, which is actually the MultiJet I.

Will be interesting to see if Maruti plonks the MultiJet II in the S-Cross owing to the 1.5L 1.3 MuliJet engine contract signed with Fiat.

First of all the finding of 93PS (91.7 BHP) engine used in Urban Cross is not correct. It is the same mulijet engine, albeit with a slightly different state of tune. Its more of a speculation on multijet II here IMO.
Maruti and Fiat uses a completely different state of tune in the same engine, owing to many factors, which has been detailed at may places.
Though its good to see the multijet II in Indian vehicles, it may not come soon given the price escalation.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Maruti Suzuki to start accepting bookings for 2017 S-Cross from 1st September.

Quote:
On the inside, the new S-Cross gets a new infotainment system that gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from that, the dashboard, seats and equipment stay like the current car.
Quote:
The new S-Cross will come with a new front grille that will have multiple verticle slats instead of a thick, single chrome strip. The vehicle also gets a new headlamp cluster with integrated LED DRLs and projector headlights. The new S-Cross will also get new bumper at front.
Though engine front is still sketchy - it will retain its current set of engines with the added petrol variant debuting in S Cross.

Is the new infotainment system the 8.0 version that debuted in the Chinese market? Or it's deemed new because it sports Android Auto and Apple Carplay?

Really looking forward to this launch, and hope it's priced sensibly this time.

Thanks
