This is what the debate all about Indianised Captur, what you saw in UAE is Renault's own Captur(B platform) and what they have launched in India is an outdated Kaptur(Duster's M0 platform). The brochure of Captur seen in Europe gives good information about the difference between Kaptur and Captur.

The car looks great if not similar and equipment list is rather sumptuous as compared the the Indian version. Thanks for sharing the pdf brochure.

Calling the MO Platform outdated is absurd. Renault/Dacia are using it in their new Duster which has just been unveiled. So the B0 platform is not outdated by any measure. and don't take my word for it.

Check the wikipage given below or do your own research..
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacia_Duster

Basically there are 2 versions of the Captur which follow the same design language and interior design. One build for Europe and UAE which is smaller and build on the B platform and premium priced. There is the other version sold in countries like Brazil, Argentina, Russia and India which is built on the MO platform. This version is larger/more roomy and also is more abuse friendly. That's the reason this is sold in emerging markets with poor road conditions.

Re: The Renault Captur SUV. EDIT: Launched @ Rs 9.99 lakhs

Renault have saved themselves from blushes by pricing the Captur sanely. One got an impression they would get carried away by their own talk of premium this and premium that.

At the end of the day, a decent pricing which can give some semblance of fight to Creta. Hyundai seriously needs some tough competition in few segments. It is reminding me of the same stubbornness that Toyota displayed with previous gen Innova

Re: The Renault Captur SUV. EDIT: Launched @ Rs 9.99 lakhs

Everything is based on the B platform, B0 being the stretched version used for Duster/Kaptur. M0 is not used for crossover/SUV according to wikipedia.

So, Is the Kaptur (out Captur) just a stretched version of Euro Captur or is there something better with Euro one ?

As per what I know, the Euro Captur is based on Clio platform (sub 4m) while the Kaptur/Duster is based on the Dacia platform which is different from Clio.

So I am not sure if both are same.

The stretched platform has only increased the boot space and nothing else. They shaved off almost 100 liters of boot space from Duster but still ended up with cramped legroom like Duster. Since I have owned a Duster, Eco sport and WR-V, I can only say that Renault's packaging design of engine bay and interiors is poor compared to its competitors.

All thanks to its SUV design - longer bonnet reduces leg room, super-flared wheel arches affects interior width...

Though Duster measures 1.82m in width, the wheel arches are so massive in width and the side body panels are slanted, that the interior width may be something similar to Micra. Had they designed it something similar to Lodgy, the interior width could have been best in class, but the SUV stance will be gone, and there comes the Duster MPV!

Not necessary that it will become a MPV, the placement of door handles, power windows switch, seat angle, the intrusion of the dashboard at the driver side, layout of components inside engine bay are critical to designing a spacious car.

That's disappointing considering the size of the car. It's also inconsistent with other reviews available online which talks about the car having adequate to more than adequate leg room. Nobody talks about legroom being poor. Will visit the showroom in person to check this out.

The have supposedly increased the rear legroom by reducing boot volume. Atleast, that's what all reviews say. However, I have not seen it person and never intend to waste a minute to go and see this car, unless they put a proper automatic with AWD. (No fudly dudly AMT/CVT for me)

My height for reference is 5'9". Please check the space inside with its competitors, every car maker has only a few inches inside to generate space. There was an interesting thread about wheelbase, legroom and boot space which has not been used since 2013.

Re: The Renault Captur SUV. EDIT: Launched @ Rs 9.99 lakhs

Wonderful pricing by Renault IMHO. Even the base variant is so well loaded. I just hope they don't start cutting off essentials like ABS, rear wiper & defogger etc. from the base models too soon. I stopped by Renault Nagaon and Renault Guwahati yesterday but they didn't have the Captur as of yet. They told me it'll be arriving in Assam in a few days. I'm planning to go to Renault Nagaon as soon as the car arrives to check it out

Re: The Renault Captur SUV. EDIT: Launched @ Rs 9.99 lakhs

Must say the Base variant is very much loaded and undercuts petrol Creta hugely in terms of equipment. Even S-cross will face some heat due to absence of Petrol Engine option and the loaded base variants of Captur. Except Alloy Wheels I don't think anything else would be missed on the base variant.
Another Benefit, diesel base version of both Creta and S-cross is no way better than the 1.5l K9K diesel motor which churns out 110 hp.
Here are all the equipment and safety features available with each variant:
