True, but isn't Hexa kind of one segment higher in terms of price and size?

Both are great vehicles! More excited about Kicks as I'm really impressed with it overall. Hope they price it right.

The current Terrano top end is around 18L in Bangalore. Will they go over or under, remains to be seen.

re: The Renault Captur SUV. EDIT: Launched @ Rs 9.99 lakhs

This is a launch I will be following closely. After much dilly dallying, I have ditched the idea to buy an executive sedan and have decided to go the crossover route. Also, after buying "feature rich" cars for sometime, I want something that has got the basics right: drive train-handling-ride which the Duster had to the most part. Since the K(C)aptur is based on the Duster, I hope it only improves on the Duster and irons out any gremlins.

re: The Renault Captur SUV. EDIT: Launched @ Rs 9.99 lakhs

Great News!

Will this be priced above Creta and take on the Compass ? or Direct competition to Creta ?

While in UK, seeing beautiful Renault cars (Captur, Kadjar, Clio, Megane etc) I always thought why renault is not launching any of them in India and continue milking the old Duster.
Glad to see atleast one of them makes it's way to India

Interesting times ahead

Mods, Isn't it called "CAPTUR"? , I guess we need to change the name in the thread title to CAPTUR instead of KAPTUR .

I think it will be 'aggressively' priced = On Par with Creta and an extra AWD variant probably
And for the K vs C game.. This Indian car is based on Kaptur from Russia, different from the one in Europe, the captur. Hence the thread was named Kaptur, but with the official nomenclature confirmation its now Captur and thread can be edited mods.

re: The Renault Captur SUV. EDIT: Launched @ Rs 9.99 lakhs

Renault calls it a premium SUV. Does it indicate that the pricing would be higher than Creta? It yes, then all I can say is Good Luck to Renault. One of the reasons for the good numbers seen in Kwid is the pricing. Renault should not get carried away and try to price it sensibly and competitively compared to Creta.

If this is going to be a seven seater, I would definitely book one if priced around 10L.

Teasers on Facebook and Twitter too. Whats disappointing is that the launch is announced for 2017 which we all know. Would have preferred a more specific date or month

"Premium SUV" eh? I hope the product lives up to the premium tag. From the spy pictures, the interior quality seems very much similar to Duster. Hope Renault gives it a full complement of safety features. And for once, not the "junior" Airbags please!!

It's three days away from the end of the month and all we've had is a press release saying that the car is launching this year, which I wouldn't call an unveiling. I was hoping to be able to purchase it before Diwali, but it looks unlikely.

They might as well start handing it out for free.

I think a price of about ₹16 lac on road for the top spec diesel automatic (if one is on offer) is a reasonable bet, but it would have to really leave the Duster far, far behind in the premiumness department to have a chance at challenging the Hyundai Creta. I'm personally hoping for a top spec petrol automatic at under ₹15 lac.

Friend, We are on the same ground. I meant 10 Lacs for Ex-showroom price of an entry or mid variant with Petrol engine-Manual Transmission though I didn't mention it. You are talking about on-road price of top end Diesel automatic.

Though Captur may not be able to beat Creta in Features and bells and whistles, surely if priced around Creta, the advantage of seven seater and good looks might give decent numbers for the Captur. The question would be the future of Lodgy.

Is it a seven seater though? It looks quite compact to be one.
